4 million unvaxed in this country.
We are ,a a nation,looking to avoid NHS catastrophe which will see people with life threatening issues dying because of delays caused by the virus.
YET,we are seeing a campaign by people on here not content with boasting of their non vaxing but soliciting others not to by ridicule. This isnt bad language /hate speech issue nor a Russell Martin fan boy one .This is as serious as it gets.

I'm on the front line of this pandemic it is real and as it stands yes it is the unvaccinated who are in the most ICU beds for covid . I've had covid myself it knocked me for six but luckily I don't have underlying conditions . I would say mind the vaccine also knocked me for six but I want to protect others such as my elderly Dad |

It's not a question of letting them die.
Older people are far less likely to have a good outcome from intensive care and ventilation so don't often end up there with Covid. It tends to be younger people in ITU.

When the vaccines were rolled out the old and vulnerable were the focus of the vaccination drive. Most of the people in these groups had major underlying health conditions.
The profile of most of the vaccinated patients in hospital will be different to the profile of most of the non vaccinated patients. If the vaccinated patients comprise of the met vulnerable groups ie the elderly and unwell, for example have a terminal illness such as cancer they will be placed on an end of life pathway and wont be directed to the intensive care units - ICU capacity is limited. The unvaccinated admitted to hospital are far younger, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s and generally do not tend to be on end of life pathways hence they end up in ICU where doctors pull out all the stops to save them | | | |

This forum is called the non football forum for a reason and a moderation team that do a starling job in allowing debate such as this without too much interference.
The subject we are discussing is challenging and both views have their place. The pro vax on here in the main appear to be a very extremist group and any challenge to their narrative is met with calls for bans and removal which is very reminiscent of 1930's germany.
You should be ashamed of yourselves , treating fellow human beings in this way for not wishing to be part of a medical experiment is abhorrent and when your day comes you will be jugded by your actions.

Not sure other hospitals but the one I work at has four pods fortunately only one is red at this moment on ICU but I'm told that of the 8 beds on the red pod on ICU 7 are unvaccinated
I was asked how I know so much well I listen to what the medical staff are saying while we are taking people to scans etc
As a porter I'm going on every single ward in the hospital at least 4,5,6 times a day moving patients picking up samples taking blood products drug runs the list goes on |  | | |

Over 40s Unvacccinated = 1945 Vaccinated = 4365
As you say the older the group the higher the numbers in the Vaccinated population. The worst group being the over 80s who should all be boosted, they have 1,073 in hospital.

The older group are the most vulnerable and that is reflect in the numbers. They are far more likely to have suffered significant ill health for example cancer, cardiac issues, diabetes, Parkinson’s diseases, MS, have high blood pressure and their immune system will have deteriorated over their life time. The vaccines do make a big difference, but they are not a magic tablet. I have spoken to elderly (and some who are not so old) who have come through Covid having been hospitalised, I am also aware of others who haven't. | | | |
