I don't think stadiums will close those matches are off because of outbreaks at the clubs and not spectator related. If we are really running at 200,000 infections a day and rising then you do have to fear for the schedule over Xmas. Anywhere doing routine testing is going to pick up cases at that rate, even with the Covid protocols in place.
I think it's pretty clear the plan is to limp through to Xmas/New Year with stronger 'guidance' and then a return to some kind of harsher restrictions for January if required. I'm not sure we'll see empty stadiums but reduced capacities in January wouldn't surprise me at all. | | | |

By the time we get to January we could be running at well over a millions cases a day - if the doubling every 3 days figure is to be believed and continues, we could be well past the peak by then.
I honestly think Westminster are hoping to jab their way out of restrictions.

I suppose it hasnt gone away as the poorer countries of the world have not vaccinated people due to cost and maybe the richer countries should have done more to facilitate this.
I have said countle times this virus has changed life and we cannot ,as a species ,handle it;our comfortable little lives changed forever.

By now you would think there would be hard evidence of transmission of Covid in open spots stadiums with provisions in place. Omnicrom is clearly a game changer as it is more transmissible but there should be some data. The Scottish Government reported some cases linked to an indoor S club 7 concert in Glasgow.
I cannot understand how fans must have a Covid passport while the staff at the stadium and player do not need one. Clubs should simply put non vaccinated players on gardening leave. It might be cheaper. The FA should declare to club a that postponement on the basis of Covid are not permitted. |  |
