Russia invade Ukraine 14:17 - Dec 23 with 151312 viewsFlynnidine_Zidownes

Discuss.

Also why is Putin always described in the media as this rugged strongman? He’s barely five foot tall with his high heels on.

But that’s another debate.

We have to allow it. We have no choice. This is the world we created. One stray bullet and the nuclear warheads start falling. Humanity as we know it is on the precipice.

I don’t think a lot of people realise how serious this actually is.

The only hope is that resistance within Russia seems to be growing.

I take your point .
Frankly, sometimes A world war blow out wouldn’t bother me .a quick death probably.

I’m finding it hard to watch Ukrainian kids being attacked in hospitals, schools and refuges

Meanwhile Chelsea FC are upset over their chairman that was . We are that hypocritical.

This shames us all, make no mistake

Are Zrussians really that dumb to be taken in like this ? .many really do support this action.. they are a cruel people .

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Correct unfortunately.

I'm genuinely worried what NATO 's red line is, if they have one outside of the NATO border? Russia using chemical weapons? A Strategic nuke? Destroying a few more cities population and all?

The other big thing is the sanity of Putin. I've got no doubt he'd happily kill millions.

I'm hoping for some sort of a peace deal and Putin and his cronies disappearing over the next decade.

Did you watch that bizarre spectacle before the war started? Where Putins closest ministers spoke one by one in that weird semi circle about 100m away from Putin on the other side of the room? You could almost taste the reluctance. They know this is an absolute suicide mission that will put Russia back 30 years.

There was a guy on radio 4 early this morning who made a good point, how did the west know with such certainty Putin’s plans for invasion? Almost down to the correct day? Someone in there is a leaker. And I don’t mean the ones pissing themselves in fear. How are the Ukrainians getting the intel of the high ranking soldiers positions? It’s not luck that they’ve taken out so many generals. This is rare in any war for the high rankers to be taken out with such efficiency. They know exactly where they are. Someone is feeding them this information.

And the only people with access to this information is someone relatively close to Putin. He knows this which is why he is keeping them all at arms length, he can’t do everything on his own. Like any tyrant he is constantly in a state of paranoia watching for that shadowy figure wielding a knife in the dark.

Sadly its highly unlikely there will be much resistance from the Russian people, these idiots have allowed themselves to be suppressed for as long as we can remember, they believe all the propaganda and are even quite prepared to see there clueless 18 to 21 year olds sent to there deaths in there droves and most of them have no idea what they are actually fighting for, they are a nation of dimwits ruled over by scumbags to do not give a fcuk about them, hopefully someone powerful within the regime will get fed up of Putin and get rid of him by putting a Bullet in his head or by some other sinister way.

The Russian secure comms system relies on 3g/4g. The soldiers in the field were not aware of this and they destroyed the phone masts in their operational area...Ooopsie!

The Russians (Officers as soldiers had their phones taken from them before the invasion) were forced to use normal mobile phones and the 2g network and when calls were intercepted and triangulated Ukrainian forces went in and had a party.

You are so naive.

That is the story being put out in our media but do you think that they would advertise this to the Russians so they can put the problem right?.
No chance.
Far more likely that they do have people on the inside giving them info and they are trying to protect them by putting out false narratives.

I dont doubt that they have other avenues of SIGINT but the fact still remains that the Russki's effed any chance of using their own secure comms.

Spot on. I was slated for daring to suggest that the Ukraine is not all it seems. Yes, they don't deserve what's happened, but to put the Ukraine on a pedestal and suggest it's some paragon of democracy and freedom is simply incorrect. It's one of the most corrupt countries.

What a joke, you don't need to crack their encryption to give them a kicking.
They are in Ukraine where they are under continual observational surveillence.
Any ground vehicle's course and speed is dependant on terrain, I am just shocked it took the Ukrainians so long to destroy the Russian armour that they have.
As I pointed out a long time ago the 40 mile long vehicle column was a sitting duck.
The Taliban would have taken most of them out way before this.

I thought you were out ? No one on this thread has any one claimed that Ukraine as you put it a " paragon of democracy and freedom" and even so no country is beyond reproach including Russia and your post hasno bearing on the current situation so why mention it .
Strange that before and after his over whelming election victory Zelensky had and has fully supported anti-corruption reforms , with reformers in government, civil groups, and international partners also created Ukraine’s first national public database of politically exposed persons, their relatives, and close associates. As of December 2021, the PEP database had grown to 48,000 individuals and more than 30,000 affiliated legal entities. “Ukrainian and international financial institutions, as well as law enforcement agencies, are using this information for due diligence measures and to investigate suspicious transactions,” No matter how you try to per portion blame on the Ukrainians with you under hand comments there will always be a counter response

Ukraine has issues with corruption, nobody is saying it hasn’t but the current president is trying to do something about it, according to a number of different online sources Russia and the “Stans” are more corrupt than Ukraine.
I suspect all these oligarchs are up to their eyes in, one article I recently read suggested VP and his honchos top sliced 50% off all Russian business.

I think AFD’s point about the armour the Ukrainian army are trying to protect with human shields and the misinformation coming out around that should make people so quick to denounce Russian information. Two sides to every story and war is by its very nature a dirty business.

I’ve been reading up on the shelling of Donbas that’s gone back over years not since February. Putin had resisted invading Ukraine for over 20 years (if that was his hearts desire as some would have us believe) - why just do it now - out of the blue?

Do you know the truth of the Heroic Ukraine Firemen photograph?
Have you seen the photos & videos of the Ukrainian Rocket launchers parked under the Mall prior to it being bombed.
Have you watched the videos of refugees claiming the Ukraine Army stopped them leaving and not the Russians.
