16 years olds sort of care about the future … 🤷‍♂️

Getting young people engaged and informed as citizens might stop the likes of Johnson ever getting in again.

Working age people voted Corbyn in 2019.

They may care about the future, but they have no life experience to base their choices on.

So resorting to insults yet again when you cannot prove your case, it is getting so boringly predictable.

Instead now you say "So historically it is difficult to define fascism as a single set of values"
Contradicting what you said originally Quote" Let others suffer so I can lead my life. That’s the central tenet of fascism. "

Which you have not proved in any way shape or form.

Now you switch it to "current right wing populism" as a description of my fascism.

From the Brtiannica "fascist populism did not attribute workers’ hardships to big business and big landowners - not me
and did not advocate measures such as progressive taxation - not me
higher pay for industrial and farm workers, protection of unions, and the right to strike. - not me
In general it spared the wealth of the upper classes. - Also not me

How about modern right wing populism?
From Wiki
"In summary, Erik Berggren and Andres Neergard wrote in 2015 that "[m]ost researchers agree [...] that xenophobia, not me
anti-immigration sentiments, not me
nativism, not me
ethno-nationalism are, not me
in different ways, central elements in the ideologies, politics, and practices of right-wing populism and Extreme Right Wing Parties"

Are you mixing me up with Trampie?

Yes you have a massive amount of learning, as you keep telling us all, so how about you engage it before making statements that you can't back up from your vast repository of knowledge.

Yeah! great planning to destroy 40,000 vaccines, although isn't a race is it ?

"Grown up politics" that's why we have 16 year olds voting in Wales.

It was nothing to do with planning and not the fault of the WG. The Astra vaccines became surplus to requirement after the Government/JVCI changed the vaccination guidance in relation to the under 40’s who were then offered alternative vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) to the Astra based on research regarding potential blood clotting concerns. Based on FOI figures a minimum 604,000 vaccines (with some sources estimating as many as 800,000) vaccines were destroyed. The problem was that the remaining vaccines had a relatively short shelf life which made it difficult to use them elsewhere.

The Daily Telegraph, normally a newspaper very critical of Labour and devolved governance made the below comments in their article on the subject. I’d suggest that portraits WG performance much more favourably both in terms of wastage and transparency.

“New figures published on Wednesday by the Welsh government — which has had the lowest levels of wastage in the UK and also publishes the most comprehensive data — showed there were 40,000 expired AstraZeneca doses that were “not suitable for use” in Wales as of Sept 5. They are now being disposed of.”

I don't need to, I stand by them.
They have and are bringing misery to the whole world.
You can support them if you want.
I don't.

You still haven't been able to support your original statement have you?

So Wales wasted 5.88% of the total UK AstraZeneca wastage total despite only having 4.72% of UK population.

It wasn’t wasted, they were prevented from using it by the JVCI but that doesn’t fit your narrative!

Wales is likely to have had higher stocks of the Astra vaccine as the challenges of storing Pfizer at super cold temperatures over a large geographic caused huge logistical challenges. The 1.16% variance is statistically negligible and without context meaningless.

It’s interesting that the Telegraph comments Wales has had the lowest levels of waste and publishes the most comprehensive data which allows scrutiny, unfortunately some of the other nations didn’t feel it appropriate to publish the information.

New figures published on Wednesday by the Welsh government — which has had the lowest levels of wastage in the UK and also publishes the most comprehensive data — showed there were 40,000 expired AstraZeneca doses that were “not suitable for use” in Wales as of Sept 5.

Well said major. If that middle of the road, non right wing paper the Telegraph says it then it must be true.

Well done WG and Mark Drakeford.

When I first read the wastage figure today on here, I thought to myself 'i would not put that up if I was you, not without checking wastage figures from other parts of the UK first',as it seemed like a dig at the Welsh NHS, I didn't have the time or the inclination to look for the figures, but it seems as if the Welsh wastage figures had been good, some right silly Billie's on here, lol.

Instead of taking the time to understand something, some people make quick comments when they aren’t sighted on all the information; others then swallow the information hook line and sinker.

I am not a Drakers or Gething fan and I think there things the WG could have done better. I am not Boris, Hancock or Cummin’s fans either and there are certainly things they and Westminster could and should have done much better on.

What must happen is that our leaders should look at things critically; identify the positives and the negatives, build on the positives and address the negatives. It’s the only way we’ll improve performance levels.

Very well said again.

I'm not a Drakeford fan in the general sense in that I don't vote Labour and on many other issues where I believe they've (WG) got it wrong i've been scathing in my criticism.

Having said that I believe I try to understand the whole situation before commenting. I don't understand why many don't do that. They read one post or one stat and jump straight in without thought.

Another thing that must happen in my opinion is that in any future event of national emergency like this one the rules should be applied equally across the whole United Kingdom. Devolution is fine for the day to day stuff but it’s caused nothing but confusion and chaos throughout this whole thing. For example tonight there will be tens of thousands of Welsh people crossing the border to England because they are allowed in pubs and nightclubs restriction free there whilst Welsh businesses go to the wall. There was a guy on the radio this morning, he owns a pub in a border town, he’s on the Welsh side so is facing restrictions and is only allowed to admit a small number whilst a pub 200 metres down the road will be packed to the rafters.

Things like this are utterly maddening. A lot of these rules do not make any sense at all. With any sort of lockdown it only works if you shut everything down, and enforce that lockdown. This micromanaging of the pandemic is destructive, confusing and ultimately pointless.
