| Looking at Steveo Cooper on 23:43 - Jan 9 by Bobblehat | He failed to get us promoted. 🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ All the decent team he’s come up against in the championship with Forest he’s struggled with Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Fulham, 10 man West Brom. He hasn’t achieved anything as a manager except a club record. |
He wasn't expected to so it is hardly a failure. Did Brighton fail to win the Premier League last season? Would be awfully silly to suggest so. He has achieved excellent things so far in his managerial career and no doubt more to come.

Cooper has failed to get Swansea promoted twice. Fact. And what’s Brighton winning the premier league got to do with anything?

| Looking at Steveo Cooper on 00:14 - Jan 10 by Bobblehat | Steve Cooper failed to get us promoted. Fact He had the quality of player like Rodon, Roberts, Guehi, Ayew, Gallagher plus parachute payments. He had the chance to throw everything at Brentford in the playoff final and bottled it. His tactics and setup was all wrong against Brentford. |
I forgot to mention MVH and Brewster and Wilmot.

Again it is not a fact as it was not expected, only having happened once in our century long existence. Brentford were the better side and finished above us, they went into the game odds on favorites. He succeeded in delivering a play off finish each year. Talk of failure is just nonsense bitter lemons, as im sure you already know

Of course it isn't, don't be so daft. Rodon was a recently promoted youth player, Routledge and Dyer mid thirties and on the verge of retirement - barely played, Guehi and Gallagher had no experience. Wilmot is a Championship defender. The club may have had parachute payments but he didn't get any of it to bring his own players in, his average spend on his players was 1m a season. Potters was 6m, this season its 5m. | Looking at Steveo Cooper on 23:26 - Jan 9 by Bobblehat | If you think he’s successful just because he equalled a club record then I feel sorry for you. Oh and the jury is still out on Martin. Only time will tell if he’ll be a success or not.ðŸ‘🻠|
Like Cooper Martin is in his third season as a league manager what are his achievements compared to Cooper over the same period

In what way did he blow it? Even if we kept up our incredible form from the first half of the season we still would be 6 points behind automatics. And Brentford would still have been odds on to beat us in the final. We lost to the better side, a side that beat us in similar fashion in half our previous meetings in that 2 years. That’s one of those myths that seems to have stuck. We were never favourites for promotion at any point, it was always going to be an uphill task. The fact we got as far as we did was achievement in itself.

So if Russell Martin keeps us up that’s an achievement right? Because everyone thinks we are getting relegated. See how silly that sounds. Steve Cooper done a very good job at Swansea I didn’t dislike him but when it came to the crunch he bottled it with a team capable of promotion and with a stronger team than Martin has got now. Cooper had a defence which included Roberts, Rodon, Guehi, MVH, Wilmot. So please don’t tell me Cooper didn’t have a team capable of promotion. Oh and cooper didn’t spend much because he wanted to bring his England U17’s here on loan.

I don’t think anyone predicted relegation before he took over. So yes that does sound quite silly. But if he gets us into the play offs it will be an achievement, won’t it? He didn’t bottle anything, again don’t be so daft. We had 10 men for a third of the game and the rest of it went like most of the other times we played them recently. It was an expected outcome. If we were overwhelming favourites to beat them then maybe we can explore the “bottled” myth. Sadly we weren’t. Cooper had a squad capable of a play off push if the manager got them playing, it was not a promotion squad, that would have been a highly unlikely event. If promoted most of them would need replacing, that’s the difference between the Brendan Rodgers team and the Cooper team - and yet Cooper still managed to equal the points tally. Remarkable really. Cooper didn’t spend much because he wasn’t given the money to spend, which is why he had to bring loans in. Unlike this season where we get both elite loans and £5m worth of signings.

Not everyone ,just me . I can live with that as I have prepared for it as I am a pessimist. Optimists are those wishing good luck to RM .Optimists simply hope . We need new owners and it really is as simple as that

What like owners that will put the club in to administration you mean. These owners ain’t great but they ain’t the worst either.
| Looking at Steveo Cooper on 12:35 - Jan 10 with 508 views | Catullus | It was an FA Cup game, upsets happen. According to one post on another thread Arsenal should have won simply for being Arsenal but the FA cup often throws up surprises, like Cambridge. Well done to Forest and Cooper, if he is happier up there then good for him. It doesn't change the last few months down here though. I stand by my opinion of his last 4/5 months down here because it was awful. The way things are going, Martin will soon be coming in for that stick too! NB, it was after we played Man Citeh that I started turning on Cooper so I'll have given Martin to a similar point in the season. | |

The second half of last season only returned 6 less points than the first half of the season. And the first half of the season was one of the best we have ever had at this level in terms of points return. If he got the backing in January that we so desperately needed, maybe we could have even outstripped the first half of the season. Who knows? But those wanting us to ditch our defensive base and all of a sudden switch to attacking when we didn’t even have a striker are barking mad.

Common sense tells you Steve Copper went in to the interview saying I don’t need much money I’ve got player’s out of the clubs price range but I can get them on loan. That explains all his loan signing and why Potter and Martin had more money. ðŸ‘🻠

YOu know that for certain do you? You were present in the interview? Potter and MArtin had more money as 1 in Potters season we had parachute money and were able to offload Ayew on loan,as well as Borja Ayew came back and no one else wanted him so the club were stuck with his massive wage bill tieing up lots of cash! Mind you I suspect if Ayew were still here MArtin would probably be playing him as a right back!

In what way did he blow it? Really! In the semis at Brentford we were in the driving seat and we capitulated. Wembley, we didn’t even show up. I have never been so embarrassed for our team. He plays boring football and hopes, hopes, to nick a goal. I suggest fans who love this guy start supporting Forest.
