| Looking at Steveo Cooper on 14:15 - Jan 10 by Catullus | Keeping possession at all costs is costing us dear. The refusal to be pragmatic is killing us. I have already deferred to Dr P on that, Martin has to change his approach to suit more the players we have. Short of Martin taking over Man City, he may never have the players to play his way. We certainly haven't, that much should be clear to everyone. Martin might still get it right but only if he adjusts his thinking. That is my honest opinion, having first given him time and support. |
Good Post Cat My fear is MArtin will not adjust his thinking, as I have already posted he didnt adjust things tactically after the sending off. HE could have made changes at half time or just after having seen how SOuthampton came back out but he didnt... Just as when we were getting slaughtered down our left by Notts Forest he failed to shore that side up by bringin in Bidwell and mivng Manning inside

It’s called boosting confidence. Is Klopp thought he was that good he wouldn’t of played Henderson and Fabinho at centre half the majority of the time.

As soon as Williams got in the side, he kept him there. He started 15 games last season. Incredible. Nothing to do with boosting confidence. It’s Liverpool not Littlehover Warriors. The praise was coming from all angles for his performances in the cup, Premier League and Champions League. Now I know that isn’t convenient to the narrative you wanted to push… but that’s life I’m afraid. [Post edited 10 Jan 2022 14:26]

I haven’t got a narrative Rhys Williams is a poor player he can’t even get in a poor Swansea defence.🤠

Only person with a narrative is yourself. You’re clearly still upset that Cooper left and all you do is criticise the new gaffer, as I said the jury is still out on Martin there are things I like about him and things I dislike. I’m willing to give him a full season like I have with every manager. So that’s my narrative. ðŸ‘🻠

In fiarness MArtin is due a lot of criticism.. HE has shown in half a season what he is capable of....also his past at MKDOns is there to be scrutinised too. Check out their fans forum many on there were critical of his style of play last season...the gripes didnt come from sour grapes as he had left. The man is tactically inept, he is arrogant and has zero man management qualities. I know we were short on Saturday but why decide to play Fulton and get him cup tied reducing his attractiveness to other clubs especially as the news from the club was Fulton is not in his plans wht not call up Dan Williams given as some posted n here we shouldnt have expected to win. What is it MArtin will do in the seconfd half of the season to change things? HE is carrying on with the path he started at MKDOns. HE deosnt seem to be learning.

He was no worse than Monk, Clement or Carvalhal. He was made to look worse because he was American.

Dan Williams would have been a far better move. Playing Fulton was almost a kick in the face to him.

No narrative at all, which is why im able to speak freely and accurately without altering the past or having to make up scenarios and conversations in order to fit the story I want to tell. Back to back playoffs after the last manager finished 10th is an achievement, without question. I’m not upset Cooper left at all, 2 years is the average managerial length and he surpassed that. As for Martin, I criticise when he’s deserving and praise when he’s deserving…. The fact you think I only criticise may tell you a story and to why we find ourselves just above the relegation zone. Not rocket science.

Nonsense. He had the worst set of results of any swans manager in my lifetime. Over the same period of time Martin was second from bottom on that list.

Ffs. Nobody mentioned Martins name but you had to throw his name in just to make you feel better. I really do pity you. You’ll get over the pain of Cooper leaving one day🤠

We are discussing managers. You just accused me of being negative to Martin. I think it is a perfectly reasonable point to make that the two managers I have criticized the most (Bradley and Martin) had the two worst opening periods to Swansea management in my lifetime. Its not a coincidence. I am not bothered Cooper left, its football, that's what happens. I am just a stickler for accuracy and don't tolerate made up nonsense to suit a narrative. I am sure you will get over the pain of Coopers success one day.
