| Angela Rayner on 18:31 - Feb 20 by jack_lord | They are not red tories. That is almost certainly not a thing unlike jews for jesus. They are just far more social democratic than you would like. I'm going to hark back to the late 19th and early 20th century. The foundations of the party were not all socialist but a mixture of social democratic voters which eventually saw the decline of the Liberal party. |
Keir Hardie often said to be the founder of the Labour party is often described as a dedicated socialist, I think even the Encyclopedia Britannica describes him as such.

A good man who believed in a system that fought against another political dogma in a period of huge inequality. He was dedicated to a marxist society though and was just one facet in what became the Labour party.

He was one man part of a much bigger movement. He did win the "election" become leader of the new party by one vote.

| Angela Rayner on 11:46 - Feb 20 by Flynnidine_Zidownes | Ha! She’s a strange one alright. For the past few years she’s been on her knees railing against vicious police brutality and systemic and institutional racism, misogyny and homophobia. Now suddenly she’s endorsing extrajudicial summary executions on the roadside. Make your mind up mate. She really is an idiot. How she’s been parachuted into such a position when she left school with more kids than GCSEs is beyond me. |
Probably been on the pop again. I wouldn't.

Well she may only have a similar education to myself but, there are plenty of degree educated politicians who are just as bad, gobshites, liars, cheats, incompetents and pretty much criminal too. Is a poorly educated idiot worse than a well educated idiot, for comparison, Bojo has a degree, Classics i think. Then there's Rees-Mogg......Hancock...

| Angela Rayner on 17:38 - Feb 21 with 1116 views | trampie | Angela Rayner has overcome many of life's obstacles that others are fortunate not to have had to face, she wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth and did not seem to have any advantages growing up and starting out, she has achieved more in her life (from a very low starting base) than 99.99% of the population, it's someone like her the country needs, I look up to her achievements against the odds, I think the sneering middle classes will try and look down on her and if she was leader expect the Tory press to try and diss her which would be awful but expected judging by their behaviour. | |

There's people in her own party, including Starmer, who don't really want her there. it's just Starmer is too wet to get rid of her.

I think many people have had upbringings similar to Ms Rayners Nan brought them up as her mum was Ill (or working) Sunday baths due to lack of hot water Being fed something obscure due to your parents lack of cooking skills. I disagree that she has done better than 99.9 of the population as well. I come from a working class background & would never vote for her as her belief’s would take away most of the security I have worked my balls off to achieve & give it to scroungers who think they can have something for nothing, those who need it I am more than happy to pay my taxes too.

"She grew up on a council estate in Stockport; had a mother who couldn’t read or write; left school without any qualifications; got pregnant at 16 and left home to bring the child up alone (“If you’re old enough to get pregnant, you’re old enough to look after it,” her father told her). She is now the mother of three boys, one of whom was born at 23 weeks and is registered blind. " [Post edited 21 Feb 2022 18:43]

Plenty of others have had it tough but to reach the top of society in her circumstances is a success that others don't achieve, she started as a home help, became a full time trade union convenor representing 200,000 workers, MP, shadow sec for education and deputy leader.

She's done well yes but "top of society"? Our current politicans are the Peter principle in full flow, look at Bojo, he's top of the tree but the lowest of the low. The top of society, in my opinion, are those who selflessly do things for others and ask for no reward. There are millions in this country who are far better than the vast majority of the ass warmers in Westminster, whichever house you look at.

That’s the point. We complain (rightly) when people get promoted above their competency because they’re rich and have connections, but when someone is promoted above their competency because they’re poor and underprivileged it’s seen as a positive thing, when in fact it’s the same result. Posh idiot or poor idiot? Can we just not have idiots?

She has proved herself in many facets, showing an ability to learn quickly, adapt, problem solve, that is far more intelligent than remembering something from a book that might be outdated or even wrong as a lot of academic people can't think for themselves.

No Mrs Thatcher came from a privileged background her father was a business owner and mayor, Angela Rayner's background was the complete opposite.
