| Chancellor's non-dom wife on 08:43 - Apr 8 by JACKMANANDBOY | At the heart of this is an Indian rule that you can not keep.your Indian citizenship if you choose to domicile elsewhere. |
Not sure that is correct. If you become a naturalised Indian citizen by residence in India you do loose hou Indian citizenship if you choose to live in another country. If you are an Indian citizen by birth must live abroad for 240 days per year to be exempt from Indian tax but they still retain their Indian citizenship. The restrictions on dual citizenship of Indian nationals is a lot more complicated not sure what route his wife has taken and I guess that is her own decision

If she’s exempt from paying tax in India because she’s not living there she should pay it here.

| Chancellor's non-dom wife on 08:18 - Apr 8 by felixstowe_jack | Why should an Indian citizen who earned dividends from an Indian business not pay tax in India. At least she pays taxes on the income she earns in the UK. Unlike that British Formula one driver who lives in a tax haven. |
What she is doing is IMMORAL. She is taking the piss.

Not a smear but bringing the scumbags to account to show how immoral they are whilst the rest of us struggle week to week. I fuking hate this government, it is beyond words.

| Chancellor's non-dom wife on 13:22 - Apr 8 with 988 views | Wingstandwood | The super rich have always got away with paying tax no matter what the country! I have some sympathy for governments no matter who they are because its sometimes better to have a resident paying some tax instead of none whatsoever. Better here than the Cayman Islands, Bermuda or Switzerland. Apparently some super rich U.S citizens use (seriously of all places!) Delaware which is a 'domestic tax haven'. Apparently some say Harry and Meghan's money is stashed away there? Anyhow I cannot ever work out when someone who has paid-for mansions and tens of millions banked (sometimes billlions) wants to avoid to pay tax when they could be taxed but still have more than than what they could ever spend. | |

This is what happens whenever they get voted in, they divide people, make rich people richer and poor people poorer. Just look at the mess we are in on their watch. The people of England who voted them in should be ashamed of themselves.

Funny how most of the papers (including those who align themselves with the Conservative Party) are reporting that Sunak’s aides are pointing the finger at people at Government and specifically No 10.

Yes anyone can make a voluntary contribution. Interestingly those millionaires who say they should pay more often don't although they could.

More whataboutery, papers like the Express are rabidly Brexit. It’s internal political squabbling in the Conservative Party.

Good news surely with the extra £20 million a year tax she will pay it will cover the cost of 800 labour votes living on unemployment benefit rather than getting a Job.

This government is one of the worst we’ve had when it comes to standards, morals doing the right thing etc. Breaking the law during Covid, dodgy covid procurement contracts, dishonesty, tax issues and lots more. We’re a democratic country and people are entitled to vote for the party of their choice - last time out the people voted Conservative, what we should be ensuring is whatever party is elected in to power that the politicians are honest. Snouts in the trough and syphoning off from the state should equate to jail time.

Fair point, but surely it’s better that dictatorship and totalitarianism. I read an article a few days ago which suggested that Putin was worth £200bn as the oligarchs were stumping up 50% to stay on the right side of the State, continue in business and stay out of jail.
