Not something that I want confirming Vetch, what I am stating is the actual signing of him was not requested/rubber stamped or wanted at the time by Cooper.
As I said, not saying that Piroe was not a Cooper target but he certainly didn't rubber stamp the deal that was seen by some as Ayews replacement.....Cooper was not happy that was the case and cintributed to the situation.
As I say, wouldn't disagree with what is being said but in situations like this you realise it's only one side of a story and quite often things get cherry picked.
As I said, not ruling out what is said and can see it has being truth but Cooper definetly didn't rubber stamp or push the Piroe signing through. |

Not sure what your idea of the player acquisition process is, but it isn’t how you seem to think it is.
Cooper had wanted Piroe for the two seasons he was here, I have that in writing. He also wanted Obafemi in his second season but the deal was scuppered by injury when at Southampton.

I did not say that Scott began Brentfords approach. Nor even hinted at it.
I will say that it is unlikely that he learned or contributed nothing at Brentford. That it is probable, even likely that some of the successful approaches used there to identify suitable forwards were applied here also.

Coops landed Piroe, with Scott et al simply administering the transaction.
Coops targeted, forged a deep understanding with and consistently pursued Piroe for 2 years. Fact. Winter blocked Coops' endeavours in Jan and we got two US flops instead.
Ultimately Piroe signed to join Cooper. He signed, given assurances that Grimes would be at the fulcrum. Then suddenly all was at risk, Grimes and Cooper were off. Piroe was left stranded with Martin who didn't fancy him, whatsoever. Stripped him of the#9 jersey.
