| Pato on 11:29 - May 2 by magicdaps10 | Not something that I want confirming Vetch, what I am stating is the actual signing of him was not requested/rubber stamped or wanted at the time by Cooper. As I said, not saying that Piroe was not a Cooper target but he certainly didn't rubber stamp the deal that was seen by some as Ayews replacement.....Cooper was not happy that was the case and cintributed to the situation. As I say, wouldn't disagree with what is being said but in situations like this you realise it's only one side of a story and quite often things get cherry picked. As I said, not ruling out what is said and can see it has being truth but Cooper definetly didn't rubber stamp or push the Piroe signing through. |
Definitely not the case. It is not the managers job to rubber stamp anything. The manager gives recommendations and those in charge of signings decide which ones are feasible. Piroe and Obafemi were both recommended by Cooper, that's a fact. Whether he rubber stamped it or not is irrelevant as its not his remit. That had nothing to do with his departure however, which was decided before that date. Cooper became unhappy after the board demanded an excessive fee for his compo. This happened prior to entering negotiations with Piroe.

P, I can tell you that Andy Scott recommended Obafemi to the club as he was recommended to him by *big drum roll please* David Hughes a youth team coach/scout formerly involved with Port Talbot Town.

No, Obafemi was wanted by Cooper the year previous. We ended up looking at Max Watters as Obafemi got injured, he eventually went to Cardiff of course. Andy Scott may have also been keen, but Oba was Coopers man too. Not in doubt.

Now that can be read in different ways, did he not want him here at all OR did he want him here as well as Ayew?

From what I gather, he wanted AN OTHER as Ayews replacement. Saying that, Cooper had all but gone when we signed Piroe, Cooper certainly didn't sign the Piroe deal off..... He did however get to know him in the few weeks training before he left so would know Piroe from that time clearly. What went on prior to all that... I couldn't say.

Managers don’t sign players off. Not sure what your idea of the player acquisition process is, but it isn’t how you seem to think it is. Cooper had wanted Piroe for the two seasons he was here, I have that in writing. He also wanted Obafemi in his second season but the deal was scuppered by injury when at Southampton. These are facts.

| Pato on 10:27 - May 2 by Dr_Winston | I did not say that Scott began Brentfords approach. Nor even hinted at it. I will say that it is unlikely that he learned or contributed nothing at Brentford. That it is probable, even likely that some of the successful approaches used there to identify suitable forwards were applied here also. Otherwise it's a Hell of a coincidence that we suddenly find ourselves finding cheap, quality forwards not long after someone involved in the recruitment processes at a club with a reputation for finding cheap, quality forwards ends up working here. Yet another Whoooosh moment for the twps. Stick to non-football stuff. Coops landed Piroe, with Scott et al simply administering the transaction. Coops targeted, forged a deep understanding with and consistently pursued Piroe for 2 years. Fact. Winter blocked Coops' endeavours in Jan and we got two US flops instead. Ultimately Piroe signed to join Cooper. He signed, given assurances that Grimes would be at the fulcrum. Then suddenly all was at risk, Grimes and Cooper were off. Piroe was left stranded with Martin who didn't fancy him, whatsoever. Stripped him of the#9 jersey. Credit to Piroe and his dad for sticking with, despite Martin and Winter. | |

| Pato on 22:45 - May 2 with 1216 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Cooper wanted all the good players but did not want the bad players is the logic being promoted here. It looks as if he was keen on Keinan Davis as he wanted him at both Swansea and Forest. It is utterly natural the Cooper worked well with Scott. Scott they worked so well thy are reunited. Scott targeted Piroe for sure. Cooper will have know the players in his England role. Scott also brought Manning and Goykeres who Cooper did not play and Bennett who is no long wanted. I love the narratives US crocks are 'crocks' (Arriola and Morris) but English crocks are 'unlucky'. (Gibbs White) Not sure about French crocks (Aldo Kalulu). Aldo has recovered actually and played 35 games in La ligue 2 with 10 goals and 5 assists. I am pleased for him. He missed a good chance in the 3-0 win at Middlesborough when he mistimed a chip. His pace caused a lot of problems that day. | |

“I love the narratives US crocks are 'crocks' (Arriola and Morris) but English crocks are 'unlucky'. (Gibbs White) Not sure about French crocks (Aldo Kalulu)”. You do realise the Americans were signed in their off season? A natural recovery stage of the year? You also realise that Jordan Morris had recently come back from ACL injury when we signed him? Run me through how that compares to Gibbs White? As for Piroe, he was chased by Cooper in both his seasons with us, landed him in the third. Fact.

| Pato on 02:12 - May 2 by Dr_Parnassus | Yes Pato throwing another strop. I will hear more in the coming week to see if that is resolved, but I doubt it as it was a rather large one. Agent been down for the last few weeks. He then stopped training and was not in the squad for a couple of games, and of course dumped on the bench yesterday. My source is impeccable, but I’m happy for certain individuals not to believe me. Standard fare. Dr P doesn’t do fake news. |
. You and your impeccable sourcing Doc is spot on. As per. Bravo. The fact is right now, Pato has returned prematurely from holiday, along with his agent to continue those tricky discussions with the Club. Sun-kissed and refreshed, Pato is on the front foot. Let's hope Pato prevails, despite not because of Martin and Wunter. And that the groundswell of support from Grimesy and the senior players makes the difference, this time. His award will speak volumes, apparently. Impeccable sourcing, Dr_P. . Yep, he didn’t start another game after his strop did he. Either dropped from the squad completely or benched. And we didn’t win a single game in that time.

Pato fallen out twice with him (that we know of) Piroe fallen out with him Obafemi fallen out with him His assistant manager sacked Fulton fallen out with him I hear Piroe has a particular dislike for him. May be the reason why he isn’t interested in looking at a better higher paid salary just to add a little time on to his contract. It’s toxic and needs addressing.

Just read that. Considering how many supporters supposedly dislike Martin as a manager and his style of football and supposedly prefer Cooper's brand of bottling football ( especially the Forest supporter Down under and AC ), great to see so many supporting the team with ST sales ready for next season.
