| Season ticket sales on 23:14 - May 27 by Lorax | What, even those he ignored and/or played out of position? Oooh, controversy. |
It’s a squad that should be vying for promotion, without question. Promotion after a season of transition has been the sound bite for months. It seems this year if transition is becoming more and more like a season of transition to ensure more of the same next year. This is the reason people rubbished the notion. It’s a time buying exercise and everyone knows it, you can tell that from the complete silence when STID was rallying people to back him in the promotion bet idea. Nobody believes the rubbish they have been saying regarding this “process”. It’s just simply convenient as it provides what they believe is a shield from reality. It’s very cult like. Reminds me very much of extremely religious people, when you present them with reality they say “it’s about faith”, “there is a plan”, “lord works in mysterious ways”. I hope we get rid early next season so we can bring someone in capable of giving it a go.

And in 44years of supporting Swansea, you have never felt like you have this season!? Sorry but I can't believe that, the cack I have seen in over 30 years watching Swansea.... This has been a breath of fresh air to quite a few of those years.

I can’t believe that I’m afraid. I’m sure you have somewhat of an ability to add context to what you are seeing without thinking “this is better than being bottom of league 2”. It’s irrelevant how we were 30 years ago, it’s the here and now that matters and we have a multi million pound squad and are severely underperforming largely due to playing the most ridiculous of playing styles. There are fall outs all over the place and disharmony amongst the playing staff. It’s not healthy and no amount of pretending all is fine because we were rubbish 30 years ago is going to change that.

That's fine, you are entitled to your opinion but I don't think I will pay too much attention with it though. You obviously don't remember fall outs in the past 44 years and certainly forgotten some of the football played in that 44 years BUT as you have only started following since 1997 then you are in no position to judge the previous years that I, Angryjack and others have witnessed. Aside from 6 years, all you have ever known is the rise and in all those years just 2 relegations........its hard to understand with such little experience of the hard times.

Like I said it's everything that's dusillusioning me,the boring football, passing fir sake passing around the back, also the owners not wanting to show any ambition and invest...even Dougie sharp would put his hand in his pocket ,back in 1989/90,he as a solo chairman put in couple hundred thousand which was a hell lot of money for a lower league club at the time to bring walker chalmers and Hughes from Scotland,he was trying...the football the owners everything is playing its part in me losing interest

I can understand the frustration with the owners but I can understand why they are doing it. I think what happened in the years leading up to the Petty years had a contribution so the spending by Sharpe and certainly silver shield can be questioned and hopefully those mistakes have been learned. 1983-87 must have been a hard time for you to swallow? I speak to fans who were about when we were re elected into the league in the 70s and the majority think where we are and how we are doing is great, you have to live for today but you can't ignore or eradicate the past....you need it to deal with the present and certainly to deal with it rationally....ones who ignore it are just not rational or are just naturally unfair individuals. Always said, as you get older you either get less patient or more relaxed..... Kids will certainly make you see life and things in a much different and clearer view. I respect your view as you have experience of it but I just can't understand you feeling like you are about the football at the club today when you have got 44 years of following us.

Y'know, I can more easily forgive some of the real dross, the utter cack I have seen in my 50 years of going, for a very simple reason, we had some truly rubbish players! Last season felt worse because we had better players, we had a decent starting 11.

I know several who have season tickets who were required to stay at home during the pandemic. They chose caution this season and have stayed away hoping to return next season. Possibly over cautions but I will welcome them back next season.

I'm much more relaxed about it, that's part of the problem. I don't get as wound up about a bad game now, I accept it and go home but the point has come where other things are more important and making the effort to go to something I just wasn't enjoying seems a tad pointless. I'll go next season, match by match when I can, around my rota. I just find it much easier to miss games now because I don't have the passion for it I used to have.

What on earth are you wibbling on about now? And why are you making up a date for when I started following the club? I started supporting in the mid (not late) 90’s, there was no rise then. 1994 or 1995 was when I starting going, 28 years ago. Palace home in a friendly was my first game, 1-1. I witnessed relegation to the bottom division in 1996/6 and then sinking even further down that league during the Petty era. It was as low as this club has got, so am perfectly entitled to talk about the highest of highs and the lowest of lows this club has been through, as I witnessed it all. So again, I don’t believe you for a second that you are happy with any season because it was better than being in the bottom of the bottom division. Otherwise you wouldn’t have been so ludicrous in the last 2 seasons when we were competing at the top of this division. Feel free to list a year where there were more individual falls outs with the manager than the one we have just witnessed. The fact you aren’t surprised I haven’t witnessed another like this in the last 28 years says it all.

There is a lady along from us. She used to go with her husband but he died about 5 years ago. She kept going to games until Covid. Then we didn't see her until the last 5 home games of the last season. She wouldn't come as she was scared of catching it. She's about 75ish, and really looking forward to next season. Lovely.

IMm 72 and it is NOT easier, but worse. I have several friends who have passed on and it is they whom I think about when we are not even seen as a "proper club" by the coach himself, who has support many former managers should have had. Our expectations were historically low but that ended within the lifetime of many younger fan now so the old- look at how bad we used to be -doesn't wash with me. We should expect and DEMAND more.Sadly, our spirit itself ha been killed off and we spend more time being angry with each other rather than who are really to blame.

Not the best four examples there. They were great games to watch, even if the outcomes weren't what Swans fans wanted. Think you misunderstand Builthy and others that go to lots of Swans and Wales games. They may enjoy a drink, but they are not "tanked up" and certainly capable of enjoying the games. There are elements of Swans followers home and away who do get tanked up and probably can't remember much of the game, but generally the younger element

At the end of the day Vetch, watching a game live is always better. I think you can enjoy the atmosphere and get a better feel for the game. Those unable to get to games are missing out sadly, whoever the manager is and whatever division we are in.
