Who cares? it was pathetic virtue signalling and anyone allowing it to impact their normal lives is also pathetic, imagine not getting your season ticket because players take the knee, as embarrassing as the clowns who came up with it in the first place

But it has affected peoples normal lives.

This movement has promoted cancel culture, caused division, people have been attacked and people have been abused.

It’s poison that has imposed its way into peoples lives, not the other way around. People have lost their jobs for not wanting to promote such a vile organisation.

If people seriously didnt go to games because players knelt for 1 or 2 seconds they have some serious issues.
I didn't see Zaha refusing to enter the ground if his teammates knelt?

I don’t, can’t fully understand why someone wouldn’t want to pay to play into the false preaching. Whether it’s for 5 seconds or for 5 minutes. It’s the principle.

A lot of sporting franchises saw a massive decline in viewing numbers as soon as they started doing the BLM affiliated stuff. It’s a trend seen across the globe.

Why was that?....surely not because people are institutionally racist...? I think so...

My response was to someone who questioned that people gave up their tickets due to this. Did it annoy you that much?

The process of no due diligence and following the crowd annoyed me a little bit. US issues are over exposed in UK. In general the players in my opinion should stay away from social issues and leave it in the remit of the club board where the fans are represented.

The player represents the club and the region not themselves. When they wear the white shirt they represent Swansea City. In their own time they can represent who they like if it does not break the law.

For example if a player made a 'pro life stance' it would not be acceptable in a Swansea shirt. Not because of the cause it itself but because the cause is not something the club needs or wants to have a position on.

I am glad the 'knee message' has gone. I got the message 2 years ago. It had become a minor irritation. I would not boo it or not attend because of it. People who did boo have the right to do so. I would not label them as racist.

Which institutions? And how? And who?

You can’t just make a sweeping accusation without having any sort of proof of that. If you have any then happy to take a look.

People of all races are against BLM. Nothing to do with racism, it’s more a political and social thing.

Are these two proud American black men racist then? Maybe you should do them the courtesy to actually listen to them.

Glad the knee has been dropped, it's point was lost a long time ago and it was just being accepted without any real thought or attention being paid to it.

If people were not going to sports events because of the knee, this is truely crazy and to over think it that much clearly suggests that they are racist.

Some people questioned what it is for at the outset. Mr Birch, the club and the English FA did not over think it. In fact they did not investigate the matter at all.

Birch has the whole club paying tribute to BLM on their Facebook page making all the squad available and organising a drone. It came under a barrage of criticism from fans.

They had to back track and reinvent the gesture by removing BLM from the narrative. It was too late and many of us recognised it was an intellectual mess sidelining existing programs of their own.

The club should not be manipulated in this way and should robustly defend local interests above global ones or US ones.

Martin himself does not understand why the man arrested at luton was not charged. Luton have given the club no information. What a wild day that was.

At the same time another African man ended up dead in Cardiff after being released with cuts and bruises after being held in Police custody.

While Welsh people were focussessing on events 1000s of mile away in a completely different culture, they had little interest on event in their own back yard involving their own police force.

From wikipedia
{Mohamud Mohammed Hassan ( c. 1997 — 9 January 2021), a 24-year old British-Somali man, died on 9 January at his home in Cardiff after being released from police custody earlier that day}

This is going through the review process. I stated this issue was not one for us in south Wales. I was wrong.

Well the downside of not taking the knee is that dgt73 has renewed his season ticket - just in case anybody missed that breaking new story.

Didn’t you say that if people do something then you can’t question why and must accept their reasoning?

Or does that only apply as and when?

People have told you why they don’t like it. But instead you insinuate they are racists?

People can’t be institutionally racist, he’s been watching to many leftist shows and the term has got stuck in his head.

Institutional racism is laws and regulations steeped in racism which stops a certain race from prospering.

There is a reason he didn’t explain when I asked him to expand.

If you are talking about the place I think you are, they just say things that they know the more militant over there will agree with.

It’s a very regimented and tight leftist ship. The second anyone says anything that goes away from the pre determined lines of thinking, they get shut down immediately and overwhelmed with utter nonsense.

Thankfully on here the full picture gets explored and other views challenged and not shut down.

Very true, although those with an intense inner hatred usually veer that way to the left. As currently they are the side that is trying to police thought so they have a channel to vent their hate and anger. The other side tends to value discussion, debate and intelligent thought.

There is a saying: “To anger a conservative, lie to him. To anger a liberal, tell him the truth”.
