| Hypocrisy? 22:54 - Jul 30 with 5520 views | Catullus | So, is this all OK or is this a case of rank hypocrisy by a man earning easily enough to buy his own home? Is a council house for people on low incomes? https://www.msn.com/en-gb/mone PS, if anyone wants to hijack the thread by posting about something in the USA, please start your own thread, Kerouac. | |

| Hypocrisy? on 09:29 - Jul 31 by 73__73 | There you go, he probably could afford a nice house somewhere, but chooses to live amongst people he can relate too. If he moved into a nice house in some posh area, people would be calling him a champagne socialist. |
Well he is a champagne socialist as are all the Union leaders some are earning around £150,000. They are totally out of touch with their membership. They are just using them as pawns in an attempt to impose their hard left policies on the Country. We will see a reduced rail service which will mean less jobs.

You talk of people being out of touch, yet this guy is living in a council flat. Make up your mind what you want

Commuting numbers are considerably down post pandemic, with overall numbers about 25% down. About 80% of use is now occasional; leisure, shopping etc. Ticket prices need to come down.

Wrong. The average rent in London is £1,832 a month. You try and get a 3 bed family house to rent for £1,200 and I bet it’s a complete shitehole. That is if you can find one.

Top tip for you. If you're just going to Google an answer, always best not to just get your info from the top link. Worth shopping around a bit.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

The thing about an average is thogh, there will be higher and lower figures and it depends what kind of property you want, https://www.simplybusiness.co. Even at 2k per month though, someone on 100k can afford it. I wonder if the Union gives him an expenses account too? Saying that, I wonder if some of those saying this is fine would also be Ok with someone on benefits getting their 1.8k per month average rent paid for by us tax payers?

He should be taxed a hell of a lot more so the money can go towards building affordable housing for those most in need. It’s called socialism and it’s on its way back lol. Re-education camp for you!!!! Mind you an education camp would do for you for a start eh Felix lol 😂

Glad you agree he should not be living in a council house. Just a pity that Tony Blair virtually stopped all council house being built when he was in power.

I’m sure Eddie Dempsey would be eternally grateful if he knew people were searching the internet to find him private accommodation, nevertheless he already has a flat where he is legally entitled too. Maybe, just maybe he’s very happy living where he is, and therefore should ignore the clowns who suggest he should move out of his legally own home.

I’d also say that if the council forcibly evicted him, they’d be legally obliged to find him somewhere to live. What if he can’t find anywhere he likes ?

How on earth could a council evict someone because they get paid well, after that flat was award to him years ago ? Also what message would that send to other people living in council houses, don’t go for that promotion, or don’t try and better yourself, because if you do, you will lose the house you and your family have lived in for years.

Maybe he owns a home elsewhere, but chooses to live in a council house for various reasons.
