‘If’ and ‘had’ in this context mean the same. They both pose the question. My point is the example you used was a Tory, so a strange choice. On balance, I accept that you just picked a strange example. You need to accept Savile was a Tory.

Which is the very deliberate choice of Savile …. I was being as kind as i could be without letting the proposed association go without correction….

I do. I am not a dumbo Jimbo. Now read it again and reassess. Life is short and one of us could lose the will to live with much more of this garbage. In many areas of south Wales, the individual candidate is simply irrelevant. Many will vote never ever remembering the person they voted for. . Here's something to ponder on this nice day. There was not a Labour controlled Liverpool council until 1958 Over the water,on Wirral, most parts outside Birkenhead were rock old Conservative.

It's the dfference between many Tories and Labour. Labour think its ok to use any pejorative at all but mainly "scum" and Tories simply ,too often ,see Labour people as too low down the social scale to bother with .They wont even slag them off in many cases. Look at the state we're in |
It's funny how you have to make up facts about people in order to have a point, I've not once voted for Labour in my life. So i must be a pretty terrible stalwart. What words would you prefer i use to describe someone so morally vscant?

| Just Ignore Her on 17:10 - Aug 2 by Dr_Winston | I think we've only just begun to see the changes in the labour market wrought by the Pandemic. I wouldn't mind betting that a lot more companies offer staff working from home lower wages than those in the office as they don't have the cost of commuting. Perhaps the smartest move by the Govt has been shifting jobs out of London and the SE to the North and places who could use decently paid, reliable employment. Doing that alone will probably save a fair bit of cash over time as you won't need to pay the "London Weighting" supplement. |
I think you may be right with some companies, however those firms should also consider the fact they need less office space, and that means lower running costs. There is also a benefit where people often work longer hours as they don't have a commute to deal with.

Ive lost count the number of time Saville is brought into arguments purely to fuel Tory hate. He and Gary Blubyy Glitter. It' s not right ;it's not appropriate and this site doesn't need it. FFS.

That’s not how it works, it would have been dealt with by the Reviewing Lawyer and possibly a Level D prosecutor. At the point of CPS consideration, there would not have been the evidence sufficient to charge him, lack of witnesses eg. Bear in mind most of the evidence came out after he died. There is no way at all would the CPS have made any kind of political decision nor would they have been leant upon. These are independent lawyers, they’d not have give a damn who the person was, the decision would have been made on the evidence and it would have had absolutely nothing to do with Starmer. Johnson knew that and what’s more he would not have said it outside of Parliamentary privilege. Starmer is a very decent man

He did a lot for a mate of mine from a very poor background when he was in the same chambers and has helped a lot of people for free too. I don’t know if he’d make a good PM or not, he may be weak, I’ve no idea, but he’s a decent man.

That's fair comment and I have to fall on my sword on that one but the sentiments remain the same. I'm as traumatised as all of us by that piece of Yorkshire evil.
