If I were the owners I’d be manufacturing a way out of the club for Piroe for anything north of £9m and using it to relieve Martin of his duties and bringing in a REAL football thinker.
Wonderful style of football, history with the club, International experience within the game, excellent win record, great communicator.
My number 1 pick by a country mile.

Bob Bradley had a better record over more or less the same time. Lets not kid ourselves that the doing okay in the MLS is anywhere near the same level as the championship. I think we might be even more of a shout for relegation if we were to make that change.
Haven't had too much of a look, but only name i can think of out work is Adi Hutter.
Bob Bradley managed better teams such as New York Red Bulls and LAFC.
It’s not “okay”, he’s getting Portland Timbers into the top echelons of their division year after year playing excellent football.
I’m certain he would take this group to promotion challengers, there is not a single indicator that suggests otherwise.
Adi Hutter?? He commands a salary of about £80k a week.

Not a single idicator? Remi Garde, Phil Neville, Bob Bradley. Thats just 3 managers who have pretty similar records to Savarese in the MLS. I don't see anyone advocating for any of them.
As i said ive not looked, obviously on those wages of course we wouldnt sign him.

Huh? Someone else’s failing has no bearing on a completely different person. That’s not logic that I pay any attention to.
Savarese doesn’t have a single indicator to say he would fail here. Scintillating football, consistent performer, never had a bad season, plaudits for his style and tactical performance.
Don’t think you can say the same for Phil Neville, Remi Garde or Bob Bradley - can you. Their only similarity is they managed in the MLS - as did Patrick Viera who seems to be loved by Premier League Palace.
When you find someone better pop them in here.

I'm not saying he couldn't be good, but most managers coming out of the MLS have been pretty poor. No experience of managing in Europe is definitely a concern. Not that i watch the MLS but the stats really don't back up the whole "scintillating football" idea from what ive seen.

Where do you see he is fighting for his job?
I think they have lost 2 of their last 13.
Sitting 7th in the table.
He has over a 44% win record with the Timbers over 180+ games. One of the best performers in the league and possibly the safest job there, certainly in the top 3.
Also it appears that like Martin he will take the blame but at the same time blame the players.......i would have thought that was a no no.
Was on the MLS show on sky that certain sections of fans are calling for his removal. The league is certainly not something we should look down for a new manager and many teams in the UK think the same as history shows. If he never played for Swansea then he doesn't get mentioned in the same breath as Swansea and manager.

I didn’t ask for a link to a loss. All teams lose sometimes.
I asked where did you see that he was fighting for his job? That’s an incredible scoop if you can show me where you saw that.
I’ll balance it up with a link to their last match, a 2-1 win over their rivals Seattle Sounders, who of course came 2nd last season.
It’s a very good long term play also. He is someone that likes to settle at a club.
With visions of the Premier League he is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese which could be huge when it comes to player integration.
Apparently his daughter was born in Morriston Hospital and had strong emotional ties to the place, he was in attendance at the Liberty for one of the games in the PL from memory.
It’s also been said that Venezia have tabs on him as the man to fire them into Serie A, but put off by compensation due to having 18 months to run on his Portland contract.

If there is compo involved he won't be coming to us.
Can barely afford to sack Martin our next manager will be out of work or promoted within

Dont put yourself down. Could you actually do any worse than Martin?
Probably yes , stick to what you’re good at , not to say don’t try but walk before you can run , Martin believes he’s the next Pep , myself atm I’d be happy if he was the next John Hollins

God no, please !
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.
I'd take a punt on Angel Rangel. He has his coaching badges already, would placate those supporters who want to see the manager stand up to the board, and understands the club and its history.
Agreed.
Our new Roberto.

, build your team on the defense which in fairness to the mighty Ex gunner he did , boring but effective .now we're just boring, we have a more than decent attacking threat but collectively atm having a struggle to join up the dots .

When I was exchanging pleasantries with Dr Winston ,I thought Id infered Martin wa the very worst given the damage he ha done in the space of time he has had. Bradley was here for a very brief spell and did no damage, same with Clement. Carlos could not cope with the cretins like Ki who downed tools and we fell through the floor. Cullis 's week did not damage .
I stand by every word.
Martin the very worst of all time ,at least my lifetime which is twice that of many on here

So let me clarify you don’t want Russell Martin at Swansea ?

I don't understand how this is in anyway relevant to Savarese?

This thread is about a potential Glad to helpSwansea coach I opined basically anything i better than what we have right now. I went on to suggest the current coach the worst ever which led this punter to suggest I "get help". This is what the Mods mean by not opening up or continuing old spats.

You & your buddy certainly seem to think your opinions are better than anyone else’s.
Personally selling a 20 plus goalscorer to have some average manager in the states doesn’t float my boat.
Not better, more realistic, caustic, cynical for sure. He aint my buddy;he's not even that pretty. I just say what I feel .
Now enjoy this beautiful day before autumn sets in,the nights get shorter and it's darl wintertime again. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Would he get a work permit though? Not sure he’d be high profile enough. Seem to remember he had a Italian passport which is how we signed him as a player but obviously things have changed since then.

No idea how they work anymore, but yeah Italian passport so I’d say a fair chance. Managers still seem be able to get signed from Europe easily enough.
