| Giovanne Savarese 10:22 - Aug 28 with 5001 views | Dr_Parnassus | Step forward sir, time to come home. If I were the owners I’d be manufacturing a way out of the club for Piroe for anything north of £9m and using it to relieve Martin of his duties and bringing in a REAL football thinker. Wonderful style of football, history with the club, International experience within the game, excellent win record, great communicator. My number 1 pick by a country mile. | |

Just what we need right now , another loser.I have history with the Club , but I can't manage a professional football team

Any manager who joins us will either be unproven at this level or a failiure elsewhere. We are hardly in a position to be attracting top names or winners. [Post edited 28 Aug 2022 12:27]

I'd take a punt on Angel Rangel. He has his coaching badges already, would placate those supporters who want to see the manager stand up to the board, and understands the club and its history.

| Giovanne Savarese on 12:15 - Aug 28 by Dr_Parnassus | Where do you see he is fighting for his job? I think they have lost 2 of their last 13. Sitting 7th in the table. He has over a 44% win record with the Timbers over 180+ games. One of the best performers in the league and possibly the safest job there, certainly in the top 3. [Post edited 28 Aug 2022 12:25]

Sounds ok to me anything is better than the dross being served up at the moment. What is really concerning is the after match comments. Either he thinks the fans are thick or he is trying to push the owners into a corner,so he gets his pay off. Results and performances cannot continue though. Don't think we will get relegated but we are playing like a bottom 3 team. [Post edited 28 Aug 2022 12:29]

He’s excellent, a proper manager. I don’t think there is a better realistic candidate out there currently. I think he would get this side promoted.

What do you mean by “out of date”? Articles don’t have sell by dates. These are articles written on him that stand up today, he still manages them. He has been performing at the same consistent level at his time there. Top 6 every season so far I think, and 7th currently.

Would you think it realistic he would accept our manager job

| Giovanne Savarese on 13:08 - Aug 28 with 2149 views | BryanSwan | A manager who has a half decent record in the MLS is not good enough im afraid, even Bob Bradley does alright out there. If he is No.1 by a country mile i cant believe how low standards have gotten. [Post edited 28 Aug 2022 13:08]

Realistic for sure. Whether we could make the deal and tempt him enough however I’m not sure. Salaries aren’t great in the MLS for non marquee managers compared to other leagues. 4k or 5k a week maybe. He’s been at Portland for years now and think has an excellent relationship with the fans and owners as he is consistently getting them in the top 6 in their conference. But like most players and managers, the lure of the Premier League is often too much to turn down, even Bielsa came to the Championship. 7k a week and a transfer kitty of a couple of million and I think we would have a good shot. Piroe sale may well cover that and the Russell payment.

It’s more than half decent, it’s excellent. All the while playing excellent football and a stylish brand with a reputation for astute tactical awareness and most importantly - the ability to be adaptable. Who do you think is better than that then?

I'll see that as a chink of light amongst all this darkness . It is doom and gloom/negative -for sure. I'd rather Piroe stay and work with a new manager that will treat him with respect. We made 10m on Downes. That gone down the tube as well ,it seems. We are being mullered by the Owners and have a ludicrous coach -a double whammy. The players we have are dispirited ,demotivated and frankly appear bullied by Martin. Joe Allen being subbed for Cullen is as things are.

A lot of the doom and gloom comes from the posts 💠The qualities of Giovanne Savarese is the OP.

Joe Allen being subbed for Cullen is as things are. Joe isn’t up to 90 minutes and we improved! Time for the 32% to cough up some financial support.

Bob Bradley had a better record over more or less the same time. Lets not kid ourselves that the doing okay in the MLS is anywhere near the same level as the championship. I think we might be even more of a shout for relegation if we were to make that change. Haven't had too much of a look, but only name i can think of out work is Adi Hutter.
