| Potter: Open letter to Brighton fans.. 16:24 - Sep 11 with 2338 views | Thrasher6 | Really.....why do they bother? Judas 3 is now wheeling out the platitudes to another bunch of fans that he's leaving behind. I get why he's moving on.....but no need for faux feelings towards fans he really couldn't a t#ss about. It all grates a bit...this sort of humbug. [Post edited 11 Sep 2022 16:27]

| Potter: Open letter to Brighton fans.. on 16:41 - Sep 11 with 1922 views | Catullus | It's why any sensible fan never gets into loving the manager. Look at the cult of Russell on here, love he doesn't truly deserve. Managers are no different to players or, in reality, to any of us. If someone comes along and offers the same kind of job but in better surroundings with a massive pay rise, all of us would be off. Anybody who thinks otherwise is deluded. I do agree about why though, why did Potter do it because the Brighton fans aren't interested. They see themselves as let down and wonder about something more important, who is their next manager? Take myself, I had a job interview last week, by Thursday I should know the outcome. It's definitely in better surroundings and it's a pay rise of nearly 8%, my current manager won't like it but if they offer me the job then I'm off. | |

Great posting. If Martin left tomorrow and Brendan took over,he would be instantly forgotten,as he should be . No fan should fall for this Brighton would have been a lovely long term gig for hi and like them all they dump the club and go for the money. Going to Chelsea he is entering a sewer ,one built by a Russian oligarch .

I'm not entirely sure what would be said if Brendan came back! Potter had a good thing going at Brighton. He faces a lot more pressure at Chelsea and they'll want fairly instant rewards too. These big clubs can be the most poisoned of chalices.

Just using him as an example. He gave us that when he buggered off to Liverpool . It’s easy to say fantastic city, friendly, great club etc but they are simply waiting for a bigger deal and anything that gets them that is what they do. It’s wnybRuss goes on about his style because when it fails and/ or he leaves,he will use that for his next job interview .

| Potter: Open letter to Brighton fans.. on 17:02 - Sep 11 with 1890 views | theloneranger | Potter's signed a £60M, 5 year deal @ Chelsea. £12M a year - £1M per month - £250.000 per week. It could go t1ts up in 6 months and he could be sacked. He must be sh1tting himself, unable to sleep at night with the constant worry of the sack. I can't work out why he left a secure job at Brighton?? 😇 | |

It’s about loving the club. A manager is merely an interloper passing through.

I learnt this lesson the hard way when I bought into Martinez’ bullshit. They are transient. I don’t blame them when they move on, just as I don’t feel sorry for the likes of MK Dons and Ostersunds when we poach from smaller fish.

This poster lives in a fantasy land. He has a invented a scenario where many fans are fawning over every Martin utterance and believe entirely in what he is doing. This is simply not the case. Most fans expect him to get improvements in the te gradually and most are highly sceptical that he has the ability to get the team to the Premier league. He however deserves to see out the season and take it from there. There i little evidence he can produce a team consistently winning matches and beating top teams.

| Potter: Open letter to Brighton fans.. on 18:48 - Sep 11 with 1748 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Potter is decent bloke a with good values and has explained to the fans why he did not fulfill his contract. He actually apologised to Swansea fans which was to his credit. He did not perform to the best of his ability making a number of below average signings after demanding to take over the roles as part of his signing up deal. The money he is on is irrelevant in the scheme of things. It is some what surprising he stayed in Sweden so long. Football fans are pathetic sometimes . Putting out bile and hard man hatred on one hand a squealing like a child on the other with silly Judas talk. They should know by now how the system works. [Post edited 11 Sep 2022 18:51]

We are the unpaid members of the collective....in fact we give our hard earned to be part of it. Everyone else is essentially a migrant worker...riding the boom or bust of it all. And even those of us who are seen as quite negative keep on going and putting our money in. We even get told we are not real fans by people who buy into total BS. If anyone thinks any manager or player not from Swansea really loves us and our club, maybe think again. They love it when things are good all the way up until a bigger club or better wages are on offer. Ask MKD or maybe ask any one of those players who claimed to love it here but was gone quicker than Lewis hamilton at the green light. We the fans love our club, in richer or poorer, in promotion or relegation.

How many players for example over years downed tools because they didn't get the move they wanted and I don't mean today's crop , yet smile, kiss the badge .forsaking all others until the next big move , the only Manager who upset me when he left was Martinez , I can't recall any other who proclaimed his love for the Club then scuttled off .Before him and after are just passing through, we're not

If you want a fantasy, tell us again how the Vetch was rammed full by 7000 fans on August 29th 1981. Well done though, you managed to not mention HJ or the trust, it's an improvement.
