Drakeford has been a disaster for everywhere outside of Cardiff. The investment in Cardiff has been obscene, and don't let's start on the dogs dinner he has made of the NHS, and refusal of an M4 relief road.

Not just that, but it was his party during their time in power that subjected us to austerity for 9 years up until covid, running public services into the ground leading to us starting this period of financial difficulty, already well behind the start line.

Drakeford has been a massive disapointment i honestly believe he has made things worse. People will continue to vote labour in Wales and nothing will change. We need change and quickly.

People in Wales will always say a Labour leader is doing well and is popular despite 20 years of failure since devolution. Anti Business, anti UK, anti tourist, worse NHS in UK, lack of infrastructure investment, No M4 relief road despite 20 years of congestion at the Brynglas tunnels, no Anglesea has only one road bridge working. Still people will keep voting for Drakeford.

Agree completely, the thing is he is tied to the Labour/Corbyn objectives. The tories are no better, we need a forward thinking party who can make a difference. We are a small devolved nation where change in the NHS should be paramount, following the cult like status where the NHS is beyond reproach is madness. Get someone in charge who cherry picks whats working and then changes/abolishes the insefficiences would be a good start. And before anybody accuses me of being a Tory i can assure you ive never voted for them in my life. We have recently got rid of local Labour party councillors in my area and the improvement has been immediate for all to see.

No,no and no and your point is? Drakeford has presided over a sh1t show in wales pointing to Westminster as a defence is futile IMHO. This is the guy who shut off supermarket ailses and would have locked us down longer and harder. We must start holding these politicians to account and replacing not comparing crap with crap.

Presumably you missed these 2 year wait operation figures reported by the media and posted up by another poster the other day. I'd have thought this every bit if not more concerning as the shambles in Westminster to those of us living in Labour run Wales? Yes, what we need is a genuine alternative to Labour AND the tories. Both have been a massive shitshow for the UK and Wales. The NHS has way too many managers, wastes money hand over fist and if I told you some of the things I know that I shouldnt know you'd be horrified, even by current standards of horrified. Put it this way, the payouts to claims of medical negligence has risen by quite a bit.

Well hopefully Drakeford and Sturgeon will now put the UK ahead of their own personal agendas. A strong, prosperous UK actually means more money for Scotland and Wales. It is amazing how the left wing would rather the UK go into decline rather than work in the best interestsof the UK. .

Never trust a party who have no faith in their own policies but quite happy to cling onto the coat tails of others just to have some semblance of power. plaid are the welsh version of the Lib Dem’s,no substance

I was indeed , in general politics in Wales has become stagnant , no fresh ideas nor solutions just the same rhetoric now mixed in with calls for Independence , looking at the current crop of career politicians Wales has to offer the very thought of it fills me with dread .

I don’t believe the term operation is correct, the initial BBC site carrying the story says “treatment” which could include things like physiotherapist, a hearing test etc. The BMA have published information which states there are 7 million people across the UK on NHS consultant led care waiting lists, so it’s clear we’re not getting the right information to be able to make accurate comparisons. The rise is inexcusable and needs sorting. Wales has a bigger proportion of older people and patients in Wales tend to stay in hospital for an average of 7 days whereas in England it’s 4.5 days, the extra 2.5 days impacts on bed availability which in turn impacts on treatment schedules. If people can be discharged quicker it will improve patient flow, but the ability to discharge older patients which is linked to the availability of care packages. Carers are some of the lowest paid workers and there aren’t enough people prepared to go the job. The ambulance service issues are directly linked to the ability to discharge patients in A&E. More needs to be done to get things moving in the right direction but the WG need to up their game and we need better services.

These figures are so staggeringly high for Wales in comparison to the other UK countries that quite frankly no difference in accounting gets anywhere near touching the scale of the problem. And of course are nothing new, continuing a long term well reported trend. In regards to the ambulance service in Wales ( not referring to front line staff) its been a shambolic disaster for decades with target figures first relaxed then relaxed more then finally abandoned as the scale of the ineptness by senior staff continues unabated, The A&E scandal which does of course encompass the amount of ambulances lined up outside for hours with patients is also a long term disaster that we in Wales have experienced for years.
