| Deprivation in Wales on 20:50 - Dec 2 by controversial_jack | When did this country have a wonderfull education system? We didn't have a universal secondary education system until 1944 , and the it was the tri system , and those who went to secondary modern schools were basically factory fodder |
Your spelling of wonderful is a prime example of the poor educational standards of this fine nation and your second paragraph , well we’ll leave at that .

Shouldn't there be a full stop after paragraph and a capital letter at the start of the new sentence? Maybe a comma after well, as it's the end of the clause

It’s being rolled out now, but it’s a recent thing. Free school meals is a key indicator of poverty.

Agree about prescriptions, disagree about free school meals. If you saw some of the states of packed lunches kids bring in, giving them a school dinner will have big health benefits.

That would stigmatize the kids who are poor and single them out for bullying. It's why we have school uniforms. Free school meals for all means just that

In theory yes, but schools are still quite useless at sorting this out and not all bullying happens on school premises

Well, you’re wrong, children should not have Full bellies but fed food that doesn’t make them look like Michelin men . We eat too much Christmas coming soon and many will eat like pigs no matter how deprived .

We have become a nanny state, to many want something for nothing. I don't doubt there are people in genuine need, but there are plenty who expect the government to provide everything

Absolutely. We are the most obese nation in Europe ,yet we go on about food on the table, a political expression to seek votes. We should be looking at educating kids to feed themselves ,indeed fend for themselves . Our grandparents managed to times that would see todays youngbloods running to their social worker for help and support .

There will be some of course, but children shouldn't have to suffer. Children have no say over their parents finances or motives. They deserve the best we can give them. These are different times. Long gone are the days when youngsters can get a nice apprenticeship snd a job for life with a nice pension at the end You, i and other boomers had the better times and got lucky. I'm not arrogant to believe that i worked hsrder thsn others, i got lucky and very fortunate too

| Deprivation in Wales on 18:47 - Dec 2 by felixstowe_jack | We had a wonderful education system, one of the best in the world, where pupils were stretched and people from all backgrounds could get a good education if they worked hard. Unfortunately labour killed it off and dumbed down the system where no one was allowed to fail exams and vast grade inflation. It is amazing that pupils from Africa heritage outperform just about everybody while pupils of Caribbean heritage perform the worst. Probably due to ambitious parents who value education. |
So why haven’t the conservative government done nothing to change it in 12 years? If what you say is true (which I doubt).

| Deprivation in Wales on 19:39 - Dec 2 by Gwyn737 | Good job the conservatives have fixed it in the 12 years they’ve been in power… The last Labour government did some excellent things in education. They also did some really daft things. The current Conservative administration have done some really excellent things in education. They’ve also done some really daft things. That’s the truth of it. |
No never the conservatives are magnificent, they are pillars of honesty and integrity. Working hard to improve the lives of everyone. The entire UK is a shambles, every public service is completely run down.

If any party had the desire to improve the NHS, police, education etc. They would've done so. Saying they will improve things wins votes actually doing so isn't worth it to them.
