I read Mr Gadd being released next year after serving HALF of his 16 year sentence.

He does not strike me as one who had much in the way of remorse exactly.

Maybe he is a new man now and looking to become clean and serve the community.

He might have seen Jesus

Don’t know enough about the case. If he pleaded guilty, at what stage, therefore what discount. He got 16 not 6.

It wasn’t considered unduly lenient or it would have been referred up.

Even 16 years seems a lenient. He was convicted for the rape of a child under 13. Chances are that kid hasn’t even hit adulthood yet and his/her rapist will be freed. I can’t even begin to imagine what that kid and their family has been through and will continue to go through until the day they die.

We always hear this spiel from politicians about being tough on crime. It’s just not happening. The focus is on rehabilitation which in the case of glitter who has been constantly been arrested charged and convicted all over the globe for child offences for over fifty years is completely pointless.

Closely monitored.
So that ok then?
Are they going to be monitoring him 24/7 wherever he goes.
Why does the Law allow our kids to be at risk and risk they are because they is no way of KNOWING any paedophile is safe. Detach yourself from your job and can you not understand where the uneducated man in the street is coming from.
Gadd should have been chemically castrated but this is seen as ,what, assault and we are more civilised than that.
Well,we are not. The world is full of these vile creatures who pray on the vulnerable.

Laws need to change and not in a liberal way.

We either protect children or we do not.

Its that simple

No excuse under "The Law" will wash.

Let me get this right.

Your question was ‘why should he be released ?’ I’ve explain why he is legally being released and your answer is ‘no excuse under the law will wash’
I’m answering a professional question about the law, how can I detach myself from the law ?

Why don’t Swansea sign Messi ? Detach yourself from our finances and what happens in reality and under what Swansea fans want.

Your answer to everything is
No one accused should have representation
People convicted without representation should either a) be chemically castrated b) be executed or c) if they go to prison, never be released.

You are wasting your time.

The hounds are baying, they have a point, but they are blind to reality. Judgement has to be cold and measured where as pain is a blinding modifier.

If someone ruins my world I expect revenge, hence why I'm the last person to adjudge them...the pain clouds me, i chose retribution and I become the person that I condemn. I am them after the fact.

It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. - Carl Sagan

Don’t grt me wrong, if it was against my family, I’d want to rip him apart and leave him in agony on the floor.

That’s why It couldn’t be and why if jurors had been personally affected, they could not sit

I agree with you, and that’s why the law was changed. Unfortunately the sentence that he was given was a determinate one and therefore, he will be released at hallway. The only plus is that he will be very closely monitored , and any breach he will return to prison. Given his fame, there’ll be a lot watching him and I’d imagine he may meet with an accident or two.

if it's more than one accident then all I can say is they're not trying hard enough

Ross McCullam has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 23 years for the murder of his colleague Megan Newborough. The 30-year-old lab technician strangled Newborough, 23, and cut her throat at his parents' house in Leicstershire before dumping her in nearby woodland.

If he serves the full 23 years, he'll be out when he's 53 years old, whilst Megan will be in the ground for eternity, that doesn't seem fair to me.

Exactly my point.

Yes the Hounds are.
We have lost sight of what we are supposed to be doing,ie protect people, the young in this case .
Now, most if not all of the victims will have had their lives ruined whilst those doing the ruining are let out whereupon we have a barrister stating they ll be back inside IF they reoffend.
Question is IF they do,another victim, possibly another family not seeing their daughter grow up,graduate, first baby etc .

The fact we have people unmoved by this being described as baying hounds really does show how warped we are and how we allow our children to be victims of the stuff most find repulsive .

We are wasting our time clearly

This ‘barrister’ is simply explaining what the law is and why we cannot change a sentence many years after someone has been sentenced to suit the public’s desire for revenge. It is not my personal opinion, it is not what I would wish to happen to this vile man, it is simply what the law is and why we cannot just ignore the law and keep someone locked up with no legal basis.

If he breaches the terms of his licence, he will be locked up, that doesn’t necessarily mean reoffending. It could be eg, that he doesn’t not register a new address, or does not tell the police if he is away from his address for more than three days, or is in the company of a person under 18 or stays overnight in any address where there is someone under the age of 18, or even communicates with someone under 18. All standard terms of the Sexual Offenders Register. This does not reoffending in a sexual way.

Why do you think that just because some of understand and accept the law as it is / was ( and as eloquently explained by Sir John over and over ) that we wish anything but the worst for Gadd and his ilk, together with all the murderers, rapists and the like ?
Just because we don't share your extreme views doesn't mean we are all of the view that these animals should be free.
As I said elsewhere in your world it is clearly " my way or the highway ". Must be hell living life like that

I think almost all of us would like to bring back loved ones that have passed, but Megan was murdered and her throat was slit.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.
