His salary demands are said to be way above that the club can offer and most certainly way in excess of the reported eleven thousand pounds a week his new deal offers. Michael Obafemi has also once again let his attitude and behaviour and commitment affect his game and future at the swans. 1 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. | Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi also on their way out of Swansea ? on 21:13 - Dec 23 by Whiterockin | Any thoughts on Joe and Fulton in the middle with Grimes wide left. Grimes played several times as left back for us, he is a natural left footer and out wide he won't slow us down in the middle. |
Would he ever get forward though?

Grimes would need help playing as a full back against a fast or experienced winger . Manning is now rhe main man on the left playing better in attack and defence than he ever has and I think he is the best option to help the back three which is light on the left, I think Manning would be silly to go now giving his stock is rising with the Swansea. I can see you are looking for an alternative to Grimes in the middle but Fulton and a getting older Allen is not the answer. Fulton has shown his valuable experience alongside Grimes under Steve Cooper and that partnership could work with the energy of Ollie Cooper alongside them using Allen as a stop gap for any of the three when required. Grimes has been totally restricted by his holding midfielder role given the defenders he has had behind him in the past. Now with two new signings in the back he should be able to be more effective getting forward in the middle of the park with Fulton and Cooper covering for Grime's lack of pace in case a risky pass is made towards the opposition penalty box ( sorry that won't happen with our no risk passing higher up the park) Grimes, Fulton and a.n.other almost worked under Steve Cooper but the third man was Corey Smith(too similar to Fulton) and Hourihane (too similar to Grimes), they needed a player like an Allen or a Ollie Cooper with extra time given with their speed of thought and movement off the ball.

He has had issues with Ralph at Soton, Irish management and now Martin at Swansea........telks you a lot when a manager goes public like he has and previous managers who have tried dealing with him have. Manning will be a loss but most certainly will be replaceable, pace is certainly something we should be looking at in the wing back areas. Joel Lati......not a major loss one bit. Merry Christmas all 🎅👠

| Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi also on their way out of Swansea ? on 21:04 - Dec 23 by RichardO | Manning is the only viable left footed option on the left hand side that Martin is prepared to use, until an alternative which is acceptable to Martin is found then Manning must stay. Ntcham with time on his contract also must be kept. Lati also must be kept with Naughton reaching the comparable Wayne Routledge time of his Swansea career, unless Martin is so comfortable with his defensive 3 and he would be prepared to bring Brandon Cooper back into the fold. Obefemi pace might scare some defences but his finishing is poor and hold up play is nonexistent, bit harsh given the service to him is also nonexistent but is he any better than on loan Garrick who could trouble a 6 foot + defender. Bring Garrick back and cash in on Obefemi. . [Post edited 23 Dec 2022 22:32]

Ogbeta is left footed and quicker than Manning. A crying shame this player has had his career put on hold for a year. Wing backs are hard to come by (decent ones that is) so why not revert to a back four with the midfield of four or five with one or two up front. Oko-Flex Allen Ntcham Fulton Cooper …………………. | Ryan Manning and Michael Obafemi also on their way out of Swansea ? on 14:08 - Dec 24 with 830 views | Catullus | Manning isn't an option if he won't sign. Personally I'd withdraw the offer and tell him and Obafemi to sod off! They can take lati wth them too, amd Sorinola. I'd revert to what used to be our fomation of success, 4-2-3-1 and yes, 'd give Ogbeta a go and put Naughton on the right unless we can bring a new RB in. Then I'd have Allen and Fulton in behind Oko-Flex, Cooper and...GRIMES (on the left) and Piroe up front. Then, with Oba leaving (hopefully, just go away you big selfish man child) I'd recall Joseph an Whiitaker and give them a fair go. Hopefully Burnley will look at how Oba has behaved, call it a near miss and not touch him and Manning will find no one offers him even 11k per week and they both learn a lesson. I know its the season of goodwill but I don't have any goodwill for greedy, selfish footballers who bite the hand that feeds them.

Russell Martin had nothing to do with Ogbeta's signing. He was another Mark Allen signing - signing so late, he didn't even have time for a medical.

Who was our manager at the time. If he didn’t bring him in,does that mean he shouldnt pick him ? Surely,we are above spite ,or are we. He brought in Oxy flex and other loans who are simply bench warmers Clearly, we are not allowed to question the Great Spirit

OXO played most if the second half v Coventry and I expect him to play equal if not more as a starter on Tuesday.

But surely, Keith, if he thinks OXO can turn a game from 3 nil down, shouldn't he be starting and helping is build a lead then being taken off later as we play keep ball to see games out? Isn't it a better game plan to make the oppo chase the game from behind than constantly give up the lead and have to come from behind?

We'll soon be left with reliable plodders like Grimes and any player with any kind of personality and ability to get fans off their seats will be bombed out of the club.

And the masterplan, to bore the oppo into submission and pass, pass, pass untl they get too tired will continue. Entertaining it is not. Fun it is not, frustrating yes...VERY.

Agreed with using Ogbeta because the amount of work the WBs have to do when we consistently drop deeper into our own half means they end up burnt out and struggle to complete a whole games at the same level, expecting the amount of sprinting they have to get both up and back in Martin's set up takes it's toll. Many managers even when using wingers replace them on the after 60 or 70 minute mark. We have seen the likes of Laird, Wolf and Christie all have promising starts with the team then have fallen away with injuries and/or fatigue. Whoever you rely on to do to hard miles need to be protected and replaced during a game were possible, professional players should be able to last 90 minutes, not if they are a lone striker left to close down every opposition defender by themselves, if you spend a lot of time sprinting like wingers or are a midfielder that have to go box to box too often, injuries like Hamstring pulls are inevitable.

Thf it was joey and oli who did the most in getting us back to 3 all against Coventry. Don't get me wrong, oko did his bit though, he stretched them on the right and definitely deserves to start on tuesday.
