I’m shortly 73 . In my time,I’ve been lucky to experience the creation of the best contemporary popular songs . Without doubt, the musicianship and quality between 1955 and 1990 has been pre eminent. It’s why that era s songs are still thatvwhich are listened to and played now. Much of what is rerfered to these days as music as it doesn’t include melody ,essential to music, the very core of what it is .
Our lot grew up with Beatles Stones Animals Kinks Beach boys Elvis ELP Eagles Dylan Neil Young
Then Chuck in Cash,Jerry Lee,Do Diddley, Buddy Holly , and it makes powerful reading .
Some fantastic groups and music memories there. That said I am still ( I feel ) lucky enough to enjoy much of what has come since. To write off entire decades means you are throwing out a lot of good with the bad.

Not really STID. However I’m alluding to the volume if great innovative music

Can't disagree with any of that either. I'll be 73 in July so essentially the same age and a very similar viewpoint.

Talking of charity, why do the adverts always ask for strange amounts? There was one on the telly the other day asking for a donation of seventeen pounds and sixty pence.
Ha, after me saying never noticed odd amounts, watching Only Fools and Horses earlier, and an advert came on asking for a donation of £27.07

60s stand out still
Who have thought 10 years would make that much difference ? Though a child of the sixties, I love music from the 50's through to current day. Lot of crap made in the 60's and 70's as there has been since. Who can forget classics like Woo Ah Diddy, Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush and Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep, plus that song about the witchdoctor ( can't remember the title ) ?

Once you see it you can’t unsee it. I wonder if it’s an exchange rate thing maybe? I can’t think of any other reason they’d ask for such bizarre amounts.

I think it is £27.07 will buy such and such for one person?

Mulberry Bush was Stevie Winwood. Legend and great bloke
We were spoiled rotten.
I always wanted to fark off to California and be a b boy
He'll never replace Freddy, but he's a fantastic replacement
Bohemian Rhapsody - recorded partly in Wales too
Better than Glasto headliner President Kanye West, who got paid bucket loads for the Saturday night slot, he then did a voice-over to it and got the words wrong

Great memories as a teenager living in Townhill in the 1960's, when my mate knocked my door and said we had to run down the Gors because Spencer Davis was home. When we got down there, sitting on the wall was Spencer Davis, Stevie and Muff Winwood. I was totally gobsmacked to see these 3 sitting there, but they were total gents and talked to us youngsters for ages.
Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎
