Russell Martin answers his critics with an emphatic win for Swansea 31st Dec 2022 08:00
Swans boss Russell Martin responded in the only way he could to his growing critics at the swansea.com last night. His sides 4-0 win against Watford not only reinforced his belief he has the credentials to take the swans in to the play offs, it sent his various and growing dissenters to a quiet place at least for the evening. 1

Even when he wins, he can’t win.

Coventry didntnpark the bus neither did Norwich...or Wigan....this is another phallicy that we dont get results because the opposition park the bus.....did Huddersfield

I agree with that.

When teams come at us is when we tend to lose games, when they are closing us down and pressuring us in our defensive third.

It’s pretty simple, the style Martin brought here (as many of us noted) was broken in almost every way, the times we win is when that style get a pretty major shake up in one way or another.

Many of our issues with the manager comes because of this. While the above is known, he will still revert back to that old style. That is what is so galling, especially in a league that really is not that strong.

I think you need to read the thread drawing the line.

I will comment no further on this.

Did it mean we can no longer discuss things then? What have I said that is remotely offensive there then? It was an accurate response to a post that was not offensive in the slightest.

I think maybe you need to read it…

I do not believe the idea that the club cannot afford to sack him. There is actually no point in sacking him if there is no one suitable to take over who has already been identified by Winter and club insiders.

In the first part of the season as a block there is little sign of significant progress but this is at the end of a poor run. The club would I imagine hold a review of progress at the end of the season not now.

If the club is still in the same place Martin will have to make a case for negligible progress over to seasons explaining why he should be given another season. He still has plus points for transfer transaction credits. Poor transfers of the past were blamed on Mark Allen. Burns, Williams, Ogbeta, Obafemi etc.

Martin it seems in integrated in transfer decisions with a very young transfer guru in place, so this January's business needs to be good business.
