His sides 4-0 win against Watford not only reinforced his belief he has the credentials to take the swans in to the play offs, it sent his various and growing dissenters to a quiet place at least for the evening. 1 Even when he wins, he can’t win.

| Russell Martin answers his critics with an emphatic win for Swansea on 11:50 - Jan 1 by vetchonian | Do you really believe the hierarchy at the club know what they are doing Whilst in fairness they are doing well to keep things on an even keel financially do you believe they also actually understand fully the football side of things Hopefully they are learning but let’s look at that it past records the appointment of Bradley, signing Morris and Arriola you may feel we are doing ok but Friday showed how much better we could be doing had this manager picked a different formation and tactics such that many fans on here had been suggesting It’s all about opinions but I’m not sure Jake Steve et al have fully grasped the workings of British league football and for me the jury is still out on Winter. Why now has Martin made the change to four at the back and away from a lone striker his way has failed over the previous 8 games maybe someone did have a word in his shell like but no this can’t be so but why if there is a process has it been diverted from Martin is a good salesman and as such has sold his vision to Jake I’m not so sure if he were at a “British “ owned club like Norwich he would still be employed after the 18 months he has had here |
Point is Vetch, as Daps points out brilliantly, is whatever our individual feelings about the manager, owners, etc, and however much we trust (or not) the owners to make good decisions, nothing can be decided by us. So we have no choice but to trust in the owners judgement

Brilliantly wow As I said how qualified our our ownership do you believe Martin would have survived at somewhere like Norwich as I suggest Yes it is down to the owners not us fans but as usual some fans are still deluded and still buying in the whole empowers new clothes As I said why has it taken so long to switch to a back four and supporting Piroe up front why now why not 4 or 5 games ago. But never mind the gang will stick together had Russ made these changes a few games ago we would be in the playoffs now. I’m sure someone has had a word otherwise why change from what we have been working on his words

| Russell Martin answers his critics with an emphatic win for Swansea on 20:45 - Dec 31 by vetchonian | he talks of his.process yet last night's victory came with a shift from his preferred set up of 3/5 at the back...one which he has persevered with during the last 8 winless run of games... Funny too how one of the reports/articles supporting Martin talked of how we lack the players but now it seems we have the players..... Yes I'm chuffed we won last night but let's not lose sight of the facts we won by not playing Martinball....funny how when his back is against the wall the fraud plays football which gets results....many have said we should have been playing with a flat back four and Piroe should have support up front funny when that happens how we get a result....this talking up up of this fraud has to end....he hasn't answered critics all he has done is confirm that they are right |
From 31/8/02 to 29/10/22 we gained 23 points from 33 and scored 18 goals in 11 games, plus 5 gd all with 3/5 at the back!

I think you will find the start of that run we lined up 4 4 2 at the start and in many of the other games we changed to a back four also

Let's be fair Vetch, many a club has fallen by the wayside after being relegated from the Premier league......none of us know the finances at hand and can't use something from the Internet as the truth. Its all about fans controlling their opinions rather than forcing it as fact on others, unfortunately if this continues then the bickering that Keith wants being reigned in will just continue. Appintments and signing will be made within the budget to keep us competitive and financially sound. I highly doubt businessmen who are playing with millions, interacted with thousands of people will be fooled by a Salesman, infact the guy we all see will likely be different guy behind closed doors. I will tell you one thing, not one man is bigger than the club.....if they don't do what is expected then they will be out the door, that's both professionally and personally and will give you an indication as to why some players will be walking out through the liberty doors this January.

I never post to blow people out of the water, i know some posters take it personally or get their back up because it goes against their viewpoint........i read plenty on here that goes beyond my opinion, some I will reply back to and others I just take control of the situation and just move past it. If you are not in the corridor of power then you are working offwhispers, tittle tattle and things read on the Internet that tend to fall into the former. I cant be having "BUT IT'S FACT" nonsense.......it never really reflect well on the individual when it gets to that level.

| Russell Martin answers his critics with an emphatic win for Swansea on 11:04 - Jan 1 by magicdaps10 | The club denotes what is expected from Martin and what they expect from him, if he continues to not hit those targets then he will get the boot......thus far that has not happened. There will be a group of people with far more business knowledge and understanding of the game making calls at the club......they will be based on a sound mind and a fair judgement. Nothing wrong with being happy or unhappy with a situation based on opinion but the powers who be, the ones who run the club will know what's needed and not, they will act if things are not going as they should taking in the whole situation with a reasonable mind. Fans are fickle, some will not push, some will expect more than is reasonable........without the exact information, cherry picking from the Internet, we have no idea of the whole situation. The issue with some fans, they start playing in the fact game, its a common misjudgement to get an opinion and fact mixed up. For myself, I think we are doing OK and it seems that the people with a more experienced business and football brain thunk the same considering Martin is still at the helm. If people want me to say things and get things off the Internet to back my opinions up then so be it, I can't go of gossip and things that are not going to be correct that are posted on the internet......i don't really take in that type of nonsense. |
Exactly. | | | |

We are all in agreement that the style we saw on Friday is the style we would like to see ideally implemented every game. As for the manager's being fired elsewhere, Norwich, Watford, WBA and probably a few others are basket cases of clubs. Watford in particular will probably go through another two managers by kick off of Season 2023/24 Not for me that thanks

You are correct. As for some fans … Kaplan, Silverstein and Levein have previous and current successful involvement with other sports clubs. They work with multi-million$ international projects on a daily basis.. They have invested $millions of their own money. Of course they know sod all about running a business🙄

no one has said they know nothing about running a business more that they do not understand the intricacies of football league clubs and relegation etc. maybe people should read what others post properly without letting their personal prejudices colour their interpretations

They have been with us since EPL days and have already seen the financial implications of a relegation. I am sure they have learned all they need to know from this ? At the same time they want a financially stable club, which IMHO they are achieving. Not sure sacking a manager and his assistants and all the financial loss in payouts that entails is part of their plans ? If they need to they will, but it is clear for the moment ( and Keith has surely dropped enough hints ) it won't happen for a couple of months yet, if at all

| Russell Martin answers his critics with an emphatic win for Swansea on 15:02 - Jan 1 with 553 views | Dr_Winston | It does bear repeating that there's not the slightest chance that club ownership are even remotely unaware of the reality and costs of relegation, now or at any time in the past. It's one of those snobbish things that European football supporters like to think about Americans with very little basis in fact. | |

Did you read the report ? The ticket sales post that win rocketed. If scoring four goals against a top six side isn’t a statement then I’m unsure what is. But of course his tactics aren’t conducive to doing that. And then he does, and now let’s look for another stick to beat him with. It’s nonsense, it really is.

its nonsense he has silenced his critics..... the win came as a result of a change in formation set up and tactics from that which have been used over the last 8 games since our last win....apparently these players Re good yet you or one of your co writers spoke in another article/ report that Martin doesn't have the players to make his system work.....well wouldn't that be expected outside of the PL yet those same players got a 4 nil win on Friday.....this Martin love in is becoming silly

Where does it say he silenced his critics? This is the problem at times. It’s far easier to pick fault and when it goes wrong jump on the faults even more. And then when it works it’s because he did it differently ? Think about that for a moment, think about what you are saying. This isn’t a Martin love in, I doubt very much you have read half of the reports or features on here, because if you did you would see the angle we are coming from. Giving people the option to read and review and then respond without throwing ridiculous nonsense about that has no foundation is a problem on many sites at the moment. Just because I’m not one of those people who regularly throws insults about don’t think at times I don’t see issues. What I don’t do is randomly select my own interpretation on an event and make stuff up because it suits. As I said to someone else on here this evening, you clearly don’t know me. That’s it, good evening.

The formation for the previous 8 games was the same the games before that in which we picked up many points. I prefer the back four with the players we have but …. The main differences were 1, we converted a higher percentage of chances 2, Watford didn’t park the bus

You just have to accept that people know far more than you. What some people don’t seem to grasp is a fact is a fact, regardless of if you know about it or not. If someone knows a fact and you don’t, it doesn’t mean it’s gossip. Hence why the things I and others “in the know” say, are always proven to be correct as time unfolds. It’s no coincidence Pato and Obafemi are now persona non grata… let’s just say it’s for the same reason and has nothing to do with a transfer as such. The astute among us will also have noted Woods omission, a different reason but an interesting story none the less, let’s say AM’s aren’t known for their tackling abilities, sometimes it doesn’t go down well with defenders.
