| Indy support falls 17:28 - Mar 3 with 8137 views | SullutaCreturned | I'm surprised nobody has posted this, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ It also looks like Plaid Cymru are in disarray, https://www.walesonline.co.uk/ It's not really a good look, is it? Plaid and thir great Welsh hope are nothing more than a clique of self serving no hopers and the Indy support hit a high but now support is waning as it looks much like Labour will thrash the tories in the next GE and with Sturgeon going it appears indy support in Scotland has fallen too. Reports of the death of the UK seem quite premature! | | | | |

| Indy support falls on 20:03 - Mar 10 by Kilkennyjack | If coal rich Wales is now an economic basket case then the problem can be firmly placed at Westminsters door. What has happened the our wealth ? Its almost like it was taken elsewhere and the welsh people were robbed. If Wales had been given the opportunity to invest in its future, then that future would have been very bright. Lots of wealth with a small population. Thats the truth you asked for. Every democratic small nation in western europe is progressive and wealthy. Thats because you can make the decisions needed, and not have Mogg and the like ignoring our needs. Indy Wales will need no hand outs. |
Wales was coal rich decades ago but that shiip has long since sailed and there's no going back, or would you open up the mines again? Our wealth, just like many other countries has been robbed over the centuries but blaming Westminster for that today is akin to saying the Germans are still Nazi's. Claiming that every democratic Western nation is progressive and wealthy shows your ignorance. Many countries, the UK included have extreme wealth living alongside extreme poverty. Walk the streets of New York, Paris, Berlin, London and even Cardiff and you'll find homeless people. In Los Angeles, home to some extreme wealth and the film industry you will find several shanty towns, https://www.voanews.com/a/usa_ Calling any country wealthy and progressive really does ignore the scale of problems all across the world. If Indy Wales needs no handouts then why have you bemoaned the loss of "EU funding" so many times and complaied that Westminster doesn't give us enough money? Then you have also complained about English incomers despite them bringing wealth with them!

Cat, stop wasting your time. These people mostly don’t really care whether Wales would be prosperous or not. They are not driven by economics but by nationalism and even though it’s been argued many times that Wales would struggle they’ll not heed it. They’d vote for it anyway. Thank God for the 70%+ who see sense.

Yes, but I support the status quo which we know works. Yes it does! Independence won’t but the point I’m making is people such as yourself would vote for it regardless of what anyone says. In fact you would now and Wales would suffer. You’d still have plenty of reasons / excuses as to why it hadn’t worked of course and all undoubtedly would point towards Westminster. Even then😂

Probably but the BNP have never had an elected MP unlike the PC and the SNP which probably means the Scottish and Welsh people are more Nationalistic than the rest of the UK.

Well the rest of the UK (go on say it ….. England and tbe north of Ireland) have the Tories and the DUP to represent their yoon views. For tbe celtic nations, with limited political expression, then increased levels of patriotism is almost inevitable.

Well thats good, i would not want to upset anyone. Delicate flowers are frightened of not being one of the gang. Fragility. People who post different or minority views are not wrong, thats how we get meaningful change. If everyone was as unthinking as some, then the BBC and the MSM would be telling you how to think. The older posters on here who love the Royals and expect nothing good for Wales prove that point. Politics has horrible people like Trump and Johnson who wrap themselves in a flag and then seemingly loot the public purse. They love unthinking voters. No questions to answer. Lets shout about migrants instead. Think. Try it yourself.

Who ever thought Socrates was dead is clearly wrong. . You mention Trump & Johnson as wrapping themselves in their country's flag as if its a criminal offence( i hold no candle to either before you make that accusation ) and then we have you, quite possibly the worst kind of nationalist . An extraordinary lack of self awareness on your behalf .

As for some bizarre reason we have to wait for the Jocks to go independent before us then its pretty safe to say we will remain as part of the GB for the next 30 years. Even the Irish idiot may have given up by then.
| Indy support falls on 17:19 - Mar 13 with 938 views | Dr_Winston | I've seen some otherwise sensible people posit the view that the breakup of the UK is inevitable. I suppose it's possible in time that the Jocks might actually do it, but it'll be a long while yet. Nobody currently alive will live to see Wales independent, if anyone ever does. | |

I reckon the 'Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill' and wanting to overrule/ignore medical and scientific expertise is a likely major contributive factor for the lack of appetite for Scottish independence. Who would seriously want to give nut-job clown evens more power? It's as sensible as a teacher taking the sharp scissors away from a delinquent child!

Point by point.. You couldn't if you tried. There isn't a gang on here, nobody is ganging up on you it's just that a lot of people disagree with you which is being polite. I would say different or minority views are not wrong just because they are different or in the minority and then...there's you. Irony, you are always saying others don't think or should think like you. Most people in the UK still love the Royals apparently. I'm not a fan of them or the Lords but my view is different and in the minority. Drakeford wraps himself in the Welsh flag, he likes to come across as nice but as soon as he's challenged in the Senedd the spite pours out of him. Now unthinking voters, you voted Plaid didnt you? Tat could be enough saidbut I will point out I didn't vote for any party, I went for an independent Green candidate here. I liked what they had to say. I thought about it. You are right though, too many people vote like sheep. Is that thinking enough for you?
