Purveying that myth allowed a tw*t like DeGaulle to strut around for much of the mid 20th Century and muck up what could have been a perfectly serviceable UK/German controlled continent. They should have been made to be last into Paris, carrying the baggage and doing latrine duty.

Try getting the 5 miles past Worcester in under an hour morning or late afternoon. Choc a bloc always. It’s almost in Wales, so we could blame Drakeford.

PS Blair was never asked to do something HE didn't want to do but he did a lot of things, like the illegal war. Funny how you like Blair sometimes. Just as well Bojo never said something you agreed with or I'd be calling you hypocrite. |

The M4 is the main artery into Wales the tail backs by Newport are ridiculous. M5 and M6 the population surrounding those areas is huge. Money was there for the relief road.

So you agree there was no need to build a relief road after millions were spent . Also we are talking about the prosperity of Wales not Worcester. I fly from Birmingham airport on occasions and provided I don't hit peak times the journey is not too bad. [Post edited 4 Jul 2023 21:39]

My work is mainly in Wales. I do cross Offas Dyke a few times. The traffic is horrendous at certain times.

M5,M6, M32, M4 around Bristol and M25 they’re all pretty bad at certain times just like the area around Newport. The infrastructure in the U.K. is poor across the piste, a huge increase in population which hasn’t seen a corresponding increase in infrastructure investment in all sorts of areas, including health, education and transportation. I honestly don’t know if Boris would have provided the funding for a road, he could have been calling the WGs bluff because much of the levelling up he promised still hadn’t taken place - but we’ll never know the answer to that. I am in favour of a relief road and I’d build one asap, Drakers and the WG need to sort it. If Starmer wins the next GE hopefully he’ll get some changes sorted down in Cardiff Bay and be rid of Drakers and a few of his pals.

I'll raise you the M27! (and the A27 leading to it). Nightmare of a road. As is the M20 getting to Dover. Of course the Brynglas tunnels are terrible and a relief road would be a no brainer, but to suggest that this is a purely welsh thing while over the boarder everyone is zipping around on quiet roads conducting business deals and growing the economy is simplistic at best.

What the heck has Bojo got to do with what we were talking about? So tell me, why do you like Bliars actions now? What's your opinion about Drakeford first turning down money (yes from Bojo) then deciding Wales wouldn't upgrade it's infrastructure and we end up seeing businesses going elsewhere and some others closing down and leaving.

Oh no, obviously I don't but I do like to give him the opportunity. He never takes it of course, he'll go off on another tangent instead, spouting more drivel. During my time on this forum (and going back to when Davillin ised it, and Lohengrin who is sadly missed too) I was educated by them, informed by many and also corrected many times. Kilkenny though, he's beyond redemption. As the saying goes, you cannot educate pork. Still, I throw him a bone to see if he can be sensible...or even right now and then. Sometimes he surprises me.

Brexit has destroyed British jobs, like Fords in Bridgend. Its a dumb ass idea. It can never work. Nothing the Senedd has ever done comes close to the damage of Johnson’s brexit. This is the first step back. 🇪🇺 Johnson offered the M4 money cos he thought it would be funny to pile the pressure on Drakeford to change direction. A pure populist move. I know you will struggle to understand this, but its all a game to Johnson. He would not give the money for the elected welsh government to decide how best to use. It was only for M4 with strings attached. He knew Drakeford could not accept the offer as Transport is devolved. And you have taken the bait. Give us the HS2 money we are owed. Billions. Devolve the Crown Estate like Scotland. Billions. Devolve Policing and criminal justice. Pay Wales fairly for its water and energy. Billions. Rejoin the EU. Billions. Give Drakers the money for the M4 Relief road but the Senedd decides how it gets spent as its devolved. I have no view on Blair.

It's a waist of time mate. If he stepped on a dog turd it would be Brexit or Johnson's fault! Unless it was a Welsh Corgi's pooh, then he wouldn't probably say anything.

Nothing to do with Brexit. My cousin had a 90k pay off plus pension. https://news.sky.com/story/for Personally Brexit has made my future plans of retiring to Spain in three or so years a lot more difficult. However I don't blame it for every problem we come across.

I don't suppose you're old enough to remember the Tick Tock , latterly Lucas in Ystradgynlais , strangely enough we were in the EU when all the work was transferred to Poland ,(that after the Polish workers were trained by the very staff who were later made redundant ). Not sure what to make of him/her, he seemed to take a dislike to me once I let tell I'd once in the Army since then he's been like a little mournful puppy following me , but without the appeal .Never mind it's only a forum and should be taken purely for that, a place to exchange opinions.
