No he didn't but there you go , he disliked /mistrusted everyone ,a modern day "La perfide Albion " it just so happened at that time ( disregarding the US where they were in Vietnam and where the French had earlier had their arses kicked ) , we were directly involved in trying to enter the eec.

As I said earlier those who cannot see the poor infrastructure in & out of South Wales is effecting not only business coming to Wales but is seeing companies move out are fools. Bit like Drakeford & Gething.

It is affecting tourism as well. West Wales is not as buoyant as normal while the South West of England is booming. Bluestone offering a 10%-20% discount for this summer has never been heard of before and its not the only business.

Really? Drive 50 mph on a motorway from Magor to Cardiff with major congestion at the Brynglas tunnel. Drive 50 mph from Port Talbot to Swansea with signs saying its to reduce emissions as you drive past a steel works Soon to drive at 20mph You wont even be able to buy a meal deal soon. Pay a tourism tax for the pleasure. Not sure why people are not coming!

Its not only that but on changeover days you have queues at Pont Abraham, Cross Hands, Carmarthen both roundabouts and St Clears. On a Friday it can easily take 4-5 hours from the bridge to Tenby. Then you look at the South West, yes the M5 has bad patches, but from there south as far as Penzance the A30 is mostly dual carriageway by passing the towns with no roundabouts to speak of. There is a massive road building going on down there to iron out any problems. There aim is to get you to your destination as quickly and safely as possible. Compare that to the Welsh policy. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I had work in Hereford on Saturday. I knew there was a lot of work still going on with the 465 but I thought Saturday won't be too bad. Let's give it a go! Closed at Merthyr, okay fair enough then road closed Brynmawr to Abergavenny. Brand new road. Lovely little detour through Abertillery Pontypool etc put 40 minutes on my journey. On the way back it was to be M4. Chock a block for miles around Newport. This was about 1.15pm with absolutely no events on. This is the norm I'm afraid and when I drive down to South Devon, even on a Sunday, it can be like that.

Ford - Gone to Slovakia Ineos - Gone to France Biomet Gone. Nothing replacing them. Bridgend voted for Brexit. New companies recognise Bridgend is a bad place for business. I used to be concerned about welsh jobs. Not anymore. |

Maybe if the welsh share of the HS2 cash could come to Wales, then we could have big new roads as well …? Strange how extra funding helps.

The loss of manufacturing jobs trend long predates Brexit so I’m sure you’re right, Penc. Have they actually given any reasons? Can’t seem to find any.

Drakeford put the stopper on building more roads or even upgrading existing roads. have you not been paying attention again. PS Blair was never asked to do something HE didn't want to do but he did a lot of things, like the illegal war. Funny how you like Blair sometimes. Just as well Bojo never said something you agreed with or I'd be calling you hypocrite.

Well then, if this country is so bad why don't you go somewhere you like...how about Russia. DeGaulle didn't like Britain (though England may be more accurate, As for de Gaulle, one of his closest advisors noted that he 'must constantly be reminded that our main enemy is Germany. If he would follow his own inclination, it would be England.'
