He was the same under Cooper.
In his eight year career at the Swans I'd say he has had just one season where he has looked like a good player and that was under Potter. Question is whether that was the "real" Matt Grimes and for the rest of the time he's been playing under orders or if it was a one off.

I e seen ludicrous “support” of many players,who were good but not in way indispensable ,eg,Gower,DeGuzman and now Grimes who is almost legendary . Get him to Soton with HIM and replace with a real captain ,one with balls ,nous and able to truly motivate his players and not allow them to crumble under pressure. Hell,even pass the ball forward more than backwards. | |

Has played pretty consistently and almost every game for the last 5 seasons, but obviously all three managers we've had mustn't know what their doing as he is terrible apparently.
Anyone leaves for good money or the premier league, is Southampton a big enough step? There's no guarentee they go up. | |
