Unfortunately after about that time his ego started running away with him and he began to see himself as a DoF as well as a Chairman. As much as people want to point the finger for every bad thing that's happened in the last ten years on current ownership, things had started going wrong well before 2016.
The whole mess over the Laudrup situation and subsequent appointment of Garry Monk was all down to Jenkins. As indeed were a lot of the bad decisions following the takeover as Kaplan and Co largely delegated the running of the club to him for the first few years of their tenure.
