The deal is complete at Newpot County

Personally I think Jason, Steve, Jake, Andy, Ken and Paul could have learnt so much from him.

500K for a 52% shareholding, values Newport at about £1M? I can see another pay day coming.

Did far more good than harm for the club.

In future decades Jenkins will go down as a legend for the club and what he achieved.
It is a shame Jason and co didn't keep him or fight to keep him in January 2019.

Being soft, humble and polite is probably not the best approach of being successful in the shark infested waters of the football world. Your view of his personality is neither here no there.

He took Swansea form 92nd to 6th and settled at 30th or so leaving an excellent infrastructure creating 300 permanent jobs.

He is the only Welshman left investing his own cash in football apart from Welsh Premier possibly. Not giving Llorente a 3 year deal instead of a 2 year deal was a mistake leading to
a 'shot' Bony returning, the straw that broke camels back.

He might have taken on too big a job at Newport though. I have to respect his confidence and bravery.

Exactly this, him and others created something that they could never dream off but they unfortunately got rid of it in an unclassy way and I still believe some turned the other cheek for whatever reason when this happened

At least he prevented the Dan James move to Leeds in January 2019. His last great act.

Its by the by that he sold the Club to the yanks , as far as he was concerned it could have been anyone, as long as he had his money and more back.

Some of the best times we've had as Swansea City fans, if somebody had said to you when we were languishing down in the fourth tier of football, that Huw will come along and give you 10-15 magic years which included 7 years in the top tier a major cup win and European football but will make a mistake in the end and sell us to some duds from the US I think most would have taken your arm off for it.

Those memories are for life

He sold the club to US sports professionals with deep pockets and bringing no debt.

They have not performed that well but the tide had already turned on Swansea city FC.

It was not a leveraged purchase. Burnely were bought by owners that borrowed money to buy the club and used the clubs money to pay off the loan they borrowed to buy the club. A reported £40m at 9%.

For you it is simpler to call them names.

In my opinion the fans were let down by the Trust who failed to sell a single share at £1m per 1%. The members were not performing their duty they took on when handing over £10 each year.

You’re probably right

Still, it’s better than arselicking those with not a clue about football.

Levien has been involved in US and UK football with two clubs for a combined 16 years or more. They are making efforts to find the winning formula without building up huge debts.

It is not easy.

If we rewind back to early October 2016, do we think Huw Jenkins was the one driving the Bob Bradley appointment? or did he want someone else?

Hopefully Newport will do so well it will increase their value and with his 52% of the shares he can make enough money when he sells his shares so he can buy out the Americans and rescue the club.

This is a kind assessment. But to an outsider, it's probably a balanced assessment. Where they "failed" undoubtedly was in a) failing to keep us in the Prem and b) getting us back up within the parachute payment window. So, effectively, they created the current difficult situation. Which is why those of us in the know criticise them and would prefer them to disappear. Their stewardship of DC United has been pretty much a disaster on the field so bringing that experience into the argument hardly helps them.

Levein joined in July 2012. At that point they were 3 time U.S. League champions and rarely been outside the Top 10 sides in the States. Since 2012 when they finished 3rd they finished 3rd again in 2014 but since have disappereared without trace and last 3 years have finished 24th, 16th and 28th. Does this sound like a "good" record? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_D.C._United_seasons

What a dull post. 'Making efforts' includes

a) £23m of investment to keep the debt low and seeing out Covid*.
b) Working hard to find managers to fit the club ethos
c) Bringing over US business people to manage the club directly
d) Continuing to support the Academy with Sam Parker the latest graduate
e) Finding and bringing in new investors Morris and Silverstein.
g) Getting US sponsorship. Visit central Florida.

What what have the fans group done? 10%+ club owners.

* Biggest ever investment in the club

I think the Swans trust have had to sit back and take it on the chin whilst their position is devalued and beyond their control.
