We are a clusterfeck of a club and everyone in football knows it. We will be unlikely to sign anyone decent while we are as we are. Go on Coleman ram the words down my throat if you can.

Potter messed up Swansea best chance of returning to the PL and from memory had no loans. Just awful signings like Celina, McKay, Declan John and Asoro.

He then up sticks and left when the job was too hard for him. He like Cooper then spent lavishly wasting perhaps £1 billion in football spending madness. Shelvey has 18 months left on £70k a week at Forest. What was Cooper thinking?

I expect at east one more signing. If the club is know for being tight with cash it is a good thing. Mundle could bomb at Sunderland lie he has bombed in Belgium. He is a big risk.

You do not know the facts.

Potter was brought in and would not join unless he had control over recruitment. The US people were rightly unhappy with Ledbetter and co. (Borja, Fat Franck, Clucas , Bony mrk 2 Roque Mesa Eder etc).

Potter brought in Kyle Macauley as his recruitment guru. These were his picks. Macauley went with Potter to Brighton. Huw had to take a step back.

The US people probably asked Huw what he thought of them and did not get the answer they wanted. Potter than wanted another £7m for Ryan Woods after Brentford racked up the price. "Ryan Who? Precisely.

US perhaps said £3m max. They were right and Potter was wrong . He sulked and left and took Kyle with him.

Swansea at last have a solid recruitment team working in harmony with the coach. The fans want "Watson out". Why? Because they get everything wrong all the time and just have a "Yanks out" agenda. The success of the Trust is an indication of their deep thinking.

Potter had unlimited funds at Chelsea and they were mid table when he was sacked. Cooper spent perhaps upto £150m and he was sacked as well.

Kyle the only man who loved seeing Barrie McKay do his stuff.

Potter's Swansea team scored quite well, more goals than Coopers and yet could not defend set pieces for toffee loosing us countless points and games.
Celina was a skillful player until a Notts Forest old head working in the midfield took him out just before the half time whistle, he didn't come out for the second half and was never the same for us again.
Cooper did not know how to use him and didn't stick with him or just didn't give time for a partnership with Petersen to develop which could have benefitted the players and the team.

Cooper had the best chance in 2021. The owners failed to back him in the crucial push that January by providing him with two crocked yanks who were on off season with their parent clubs.

In December before the window Cooper had a 'crocked Saes' Gibbs -White and Gyokeres. He hardly ever played Viktor. By the time pf theplay off ifdeveloped he could have been a factor. £100m of player 2 years later.

I agree, he’s a very good player, but he’s on £55k per week at Bournemouth so there’s no way on earth it would happen. Could be someone who plays a big part in getting Southampton over the line.

In theory Potter had the best chance of taking the club back up purely and simply because the first season has the highest parachute payment, but in reality the club was in a bit of a state and trying to move the established players on to reduce costs. I seem to recall that in addition to the players who departed, Potter was unable to pick some of his squad due to contractual issues.

The 4 signings may not have been the most stellar in the clubs history, but how do we know Potter was responsible for them all? Some may have been recruited by the Club. Maybe the likes of Declan John were squad fillers and only there to make up the numbers in the event of an emergency.

Unless someone is well connected, it’s all speculation.

Potter demanded Macaully be given full control of transfers before he agreed to join Swansea.

Potter and Macaully were in control and they wanted Woods not players like Ivan Toney sadly in hindsight.

People love giving Potter a free pass for some reason. He was the manager with his own recruitment man.

He inherited Grimes, Cabango James, Byers, Roberts and McBurnie from the academy plus Fer the two Swedes Olson and GK and Vd. Horne. Also Routledge and Dyer On top of that a budget of £7m with room for loans.

I would give him some credit but he messed up and jumped ship. Cooper dispatched all his signing after the the "non negotiable four" had stinkers v QPR in a FA cup surrender.

But Celina could play and had talent, wasted.

James, McBurnie, Grimes and Byers were all signed by the Academy, and yes he inherited them.
Cabango, Rodon and Roberts were Academy produced. Again inherited.
