| Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread ** UPDATED 19:12 - Apr 13 with 16665 views | ModeratorC | Another tough test ends in victory for the Swans 19th Apr 2025 08:00It wasn’t the best of performances but it was a performance that ensured four wins in a row for Swansea City with no goals conceded. Moving on to fifty seven points in the Championship with three games to play the Swans have an eye on getting over the sixty point line this season. This would be a relatively decent upper mid table finish considering the nonsense under Luke Williams for three months. 0

Cabango attacks the ball Key and Darling drop in behind, ditto as Darling attacks the ball Cabango drops back along with Tymon, Naughton taking the little session. Get the basics right.

I agree! The Board/management need to act quickly before another team with deeper pockets swoops in! Impressive streak that will be noticed not only in this league but in the PL as well. I can't believe it's taking this long for them to figure out that he's the best man for the job. Signing him now will really put Swans in the playoff picture for next season, imo.

Make no mistake, under our previous coaches , we would have given that game away Franco simply outstanding We do however need a striker

Correct ohl. A good striker (or two ?) is still the most blatantly obvious weakness in the squad.

Yep. It was a game that did emphasise our need for a genuine #10 (hopefully Widell will fill that gap) and need for a bit more pace going forward. Also Better options off the bench than Cooper and Cullen. Again if I'm nitpicking we probably needed to see Bianchini a bit earlier, and Cullen uptop on his own has never, ever worked so we need to stop doing it.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I would have preferred Bianchini up there, but it emphasises our lack of forward option's. We have saying that since September.
| Swansea City v Hull City : Match day thread ** UPDATED on 18:14 - Apr 18 with 1907 views | AnotherJohn | Good result, but this was a scrappy game with few Swans' attempts on goal. I thought we had good moments in midfield, but most moves broke down in the final third. For much of the game Hull offered very little in attack, but after we scored we sat back and let them have the better of the closing stages. They could well have come away with a point. We need better forward options for next season, and without O'Brien midfield will also be threadbare. Darling's future is the other big question mark as the defence looks one of our main strengths at present. | | | |

I did say that if we scored we’d go on to win by more than one. Disappointingly we didn’t press them enough and certainly could have conceded. And the referee was absolute appalling for both sides. Mc Laughlin should have gone. Should have been a pen for the foul on Vipotnik. The one give shouldn’t have been as it hit defender’s face. Allen shouldn’t have been booked for an excellent tackle. There were more examples.

I think you’re worrying about nothing. No PL team is going to take a punt on him I’m sure . I reckon they’ll appoint him before season end. Even I now believe he’s the right man for the job and should be made permanent asap.

He has had 2 offers of a coaching job, one with a top 4 PL side, the other with a top 4 la liga side, both salaries far bigger than our tightwad owners will offer. Let that sink in 😉

I think we all would agree that he's a better manager than Martin was. Martin was a primadonna; Sheehan talks about his players, his staff, and doesn't like being the center of attention. Martin blamed others for his team's performances (players, lack of Jan signings); Sheehan has humility. Martin was hard-headed and insisted on 3 in the back when a lot of us said the team needed four; Sheehan has shown us multiple formations, even within the game at hand, and his team looks prepared. Martin was signed by Southampton after a nice end-of-the-season run; Sheehan? Yeah, right, no PL team is going to sign Sheehan, are they?
