Why do you feel the need to constantly wave your unmentionables at the World and scream about your exclusive and precious culture ? Are you that insecure ?

I don't.

I'm comfortable in my own skin, speak Welsh as an inherited second language but largely happy to be part of GB and the wider Anglosphere...

We get a pretty good deal as such, what with our GB passports and visas enabling us to work and be respected around the globe...

Why do you want to drag us down into the largely irrelevant equivalent global status of Liechtenstein or Gibraltar ?

Maybe the prospect of marching up and down rain-soaked provincial town squares with the ghost of Cayo-Evans and the Free Wales Army tossing over your shoukder gets the Cymric blood stirring where rugby has failed to do so will give you a certain pep in your dotage?

Me? I look at the crap and pain Ireland endured in its quest for glory and exclusivity and I think..."feck that nonsense"

Being born British is a gift that many the world over crave and why we have a surplus of desperate applicants...

Some are deluded enough to think that binning their priviledge is an act of noble nationalism...

Good luck with that and God's Speed...

I am Welsh first and British second. I do not wave flags at anyone. I support Swansea because they are local and Welsh. If they were transposed to Leighton Buzzard I would not support the badge.

I agree with you that we get a good deal. I am not complaining. I like the status quo but would go for more independence down the line.

Wales had a semi autonomous status and a Parliament. I do not want Wales to lose the privileges that come with this status.

There is an anti Welsh groups on here who love flags and poppies and carry with them views I object to . The view of surrender. Abolish self rule abolish the s Senedd shut the airport hate of BBC Wales etc. They are a negative group a fifth column. All state have them.

Wales will lose a lot of value if we surrender our " international status". When peopie dislike something " cost" is the argument. It is fake.

I respect my history. Welsh people have a Senedd n because our ancestors fought for it. You are comfortable ignoring them . But then again like many 1800- 1940 s immigrants perhaps they were not actually your ancestors.
.
Vive la differance. We are not English.

I have a family tree lineage directly back to the Royal houses of Dehaubarth and Aberffraw.

Like many my DNA is very much of our collective land . roots and heritage. 99.8% in fact.

I am no Dic Sion Dafydd. I am fiercely proud to be Welsh and grew up in a Welsh speaking family.

However...

I see Plaid and the Welsh Labour elites for what they really are - A shower of egotistical Crachach t**ts that are only interested in their self-aggrandisement not what benefits Wales in the long-term. They are gaslighting the people with their false promises of wealthy independence and the perceived benefits thereof... The nation of Sanctuary idea is lunacy given the Senedd cannot even provide for its own..

England & Wales have been intrinsically linked since Henry Tudor.

One day, perhaps, the argument for Welsh independence and fully devolved power may be worth visiting but for now it would spell utter economic disaster.

Stick with the Union, warts and all. We have greater threats to our collective future ...

How much deeper do Welsh Labour need to dig even further without realising , hey I am in a hole so maybe a good idea to stop digging .

The list of WAG electorate , Drakeford , Vaughan Gething and this latest leftie in control of Wales beggars belief , lets allow any illegals and undocumented into Wales .
Echos of Starmers views on let any body across borders , no big deal .

I really await the Sennedd Election vote next May to put my X .

People who move from England to Wales are not migrants
[Post edited 25 Nov 14:31]

They are according to the dictionary

"a person who moves from one place to another, especially in order to find work or better living conditions."

The English are certainly not welcome in Wales. The Senedd are always making anti English legislation to discourage the English from buying houses, and visiting as tourists.

And there's me thinking what exactly are they doing there ,excluding the fact that they make so many peoples lives a misery.

"A Bill proposing changes to bus services in Wales is close to its final stage in the Senedd.
This week, Members of the Senedd debated and voted on a series of changes to the Bus Services (Wales) Bill.
These changes, called amendments, refine the wording of the Bill before a final decision is made.
In total, 17 amendments were agreed. Covering the Bill's main goals, the Welsh bus network plan and Welsh Minister's core duties.
The Bill will now move to its last stage, when Members will vote on whether to pass it. The vote is planned for 9 December."

I just hope we have a fully integrated transport system in Wales with properly planned routes. There is nothing worse than getting of a train in West Wales and waiting up to two hours for a bus.

The concept behind the Bill is sound.

The Bill is intended to deliver what Whiterockin as mentioned in his post. If it’s successful and implemented effectively, it would hand ministers and Transport for Wales the power to franchise bus services across Wales, replacing the deregulated model that has operated since 1986 under the Transport Act.
When the buses were deregulated back in 1986, it became a bit of a free for all and there was a lack of integration and joined up services across England and Wales ….. except for London which was not excluded from the provisions of the Act.
If we can get buses to run smoothly, connect with trains etc etc it’ll make life a lot easier for a lot of people. Can’t see the logic in having a system where public transport is disconnected and disfunctional.

The fly in the ointment is whether the politicians can follow through and implement the legislation effectively.
