| Six Nations Preview 13:25 - Jan 13 with 9170 views | onehunglow | Soon ,it will be upon us so how do we feel Are we justified to be overwhelming favourites for a third wooden spoon Being a negative naysaying kind of guy ,I foresee us ending with a record minus points difference and being thrashed by fecord scores by each nation. First off ,Twickers ,with a baying cocksure crowd urging on the likes of Henry Pollock ,who will be grinning from ear to ear Its a horrific prospect and then France. We do have some hope there as French lads might sample too many delights of our capital and Monsieur Dupont gets salmonella from a Clarkes pie. If not,God knows what he will do. We are so bad thast other nations want us to do well,as they feel a weak Wales is bad for the game .And it is . Problem is ,we are lost at sea squabbling with each other and with a WRU unfit for purpose but with the brass neck to try to see it out. They wont . I know many hate the game but surely this is national humiliation and we all want a Wales team to win,Don't we. On a personal note ,this March ,I moved up here fifty years ago. On that day ,we thrashed Ireland by 30 points and scored tries that are still talked about . We had a scrum, line out and had players with cunning and skill and a kicker to boot. Thoughts | |

| Six Nations Preview on 18:32 - Feb 7 by Gwyn737 | The coach who gets them a few weeks a year? Is an international coach wrong to expect a player to tap the ball before going? Gameplan, tactics, picking the team is Tandy’s job. Not teaching professional players the basics. |
Yes , a coach who has them at an intensive training environment A coach who can install discipline and select correct players Like having a back row of wainwright Cracknell Moriarty Like dumping the utterly anonymous Beard Like never selecting players like Ben Thomas or Plumtree Like ensuring lines out are won , ( not that hard to do) Like ensuring last thing on players mind is self discipline emphasised by the captain Which brings me back to Lake An appalling , unfit, skill free , discipline free jerk who is lucky to earn a living as a professional player Like sending the disgusting sight of Rhys Carre home until he learns to look after his body , same applies to Griffin Drinking culture clearly still evident Still , we will see plenty of I always support the Bois

| Six Nations Preview on 18:21 - Feb 7 by union_jack | I really don’t think anyone really cares enough. They may say they do. They may believe they do. But it’s a broken sport in Wales, aided and abetted by the WRU which is going to take sometime to recover. |
This is the crux of it the WRU have failed to plan for years & is now reaping the rewards. Welsh rugby players remind me of English footballers, not a lot going on between the ears. As poor as the discipline was portrayed by the commentators I felt that we were being reffed out of it at every opportunity from the start. No doubt our players need to understand the rules a bit better but there was definitely a feeling that the ref wanted to get the limelight early on. I turned it over at about 20 minutes, I expected the final scoreline to be much worse

An intensive training environment where he has to teach them the basics? Do reckon in March when Bellamy gets the football boys he’ll have to tell them not to foul throw? Or what the offside rule is? Of course not. Most of the errors today were so basic there’s no way blame can be laid it the door of their international coach.

I think this season there is two outstanding teams England and France. The others including Ireland are pretty much mehh!! So we need to compete. Practice the basics unfortunately and pick the right players. Also time for the current millionaire WRU to resign.

Yes , the basics It’s not brain surgery to teach a hooker to throw a ball to his jumper These days , with lifting, it’s a given You are defending the indefensible I’ve coached at junior level rugby Also at squash Last thing I talked about prior to a game was mind set and visualising the game before you Tandy needed size today He didn’t select size He needed his captain to ensure players didn’t give away cheap penalties He needed to install fire and with the current fiasco it should have been easy The players looked lost, disappointing betrayed , depressed and unfit Carre is carrying four stone of flag and Griffin and Assarati too He’s the national coach Are you telling me he doesn’t have an influence ? Carre disgusts me , makes me feel sick He is 22 stone of shite and an affront Why drop a lad who scored a hat trick of tries against All Blicks for favour of a stick on legs who will always be blown away

We have Hennessy and Williams for centres who are playing at a high level for their clubs Cracknell is physical We needed that today Not fit? Then call up Ross Moriarty who’s been shat on We shouldn’t be that bad

| Six Nations Preview on 19:55 - Feb 7 with 813 views | KeithHaynes | The WRU ruined Welsh rugby way back in 2017, 60 caps before being selected was the main thrust. Yes with caveats, but why ? Then 25. And that was to encourage the best players to stay in regional Welsh rugby. Well, that worked well. The whole management of the WRU a is a shit show and encouraging players to stay in Wales is Bollox, the Ospreys as an example. They have ruined the game in Wales, deprived players of caps and weakened international squads year on year. If they were in charge of a football club we would be calling them scum. | |

You can argue he picked the wrong team and possibly he sent them out with the wrong mental (although I doubt this one) The rest are not the job of an international coach.

WRU are unfit for purpose and should be round up Tandy was and is the wrong choice Proud Welshman warlocks doesn’t cut it Coach is responsible for play on pitch Always Borthwick knew our tactics which were kick and collect any crumbs from the table if fallen In Swans case, Martinkilled us , as did Williams and that Sheehan Matos has shown what effect coaching has France next Tandy will spout the same pre game shite

Poor analogy Try this then Right from the off , it was obvious the ref was petty and picky George realised this , lake didn’t Or ignored it Lake has never had any self discipline , Ben has Ben had one moment of madness , Lake a whole game Tandy won’t drop him either Now then …

Firstly, although Lake has a number of issues, who is better? I’d it the job of an intentional coach to teach his experienced, professional captain the rules? (A good analogy with Ben btw) Is it the role of an intentional coach to show his hooker who has years of first class experience how to throw the ball straight. No. It’s not. Professional players should arrive at camp with these, the most basic of attributes. To expect an international coach to be teaching such basics is for the birds.

Good exchange firstly Lake cannot throw straight and has little self discipline He CANNOT be captain Who’s better? If we can’t find a hoojer who can throw then use a wing , it’s been done before It’s not hard Really If a player is to be selected for Wales then he has to be fit for purpose Mann and McLeon as flankers ludicrous That’s down to selection Selecting Ben Thomas is a Cardiff decision pure and simple We have size Grady could be coached to play at 13 alongside Eddie James Two big physical lads That’s a start Tandy did not pick the right team , as is obvious I’m still hurting

| Six Nations Preview on 10:42 - Feb 8 with 520 views | jack_lord | Is yesterday's game a preview of the beginning of the ultimate demise of rugby in Wales? You could see the difference in just simple things like weight advantage. The line out was awful. The tactics were poor, probably because the team was picked to minimise failure. The discipline made it worse. WRU answer - get rid of the region that provides the heart of the team. They actually believe that the players will simply go to other regions or clubs. Rugby in Wales is not something that is finessed in Private Schools but rather a tribal community sport that has brought community spirit to all the areas around and if you break the back of that then the bitterness will prevail. I have been reading/watching a lot of the responses of the shenanigans over the last couple of weeks and it seems to me that the Scarlets are most willing to throw the Ospreys to the fire with a lot of petty digs. Again, to me that is what I refer to above when I say that rugby is that community game and bitterness will prevail and the treadmill supply of pleyers will simply stop and eventually Wales will drop to a third tier nation. | |

Yes, it’s not brain surgery to throw a line out straight which is exactly why an international coach cannot be expected to have the time to teach it to a professional hooker.

The private schools point you make is really important. In England and Ireland (similarly with the Grammars in the southern hemisphere) those are the places where talent and nurtured. In Wales previously, these roles were often filled by enthusiastic and talented geography, maths etc. teachers able to give time to their passion. This isn’t possible anymore as the game and the teaching role has changed so much. It’s down to the WRU to provide the structure and they’ve made a complete pigs ear of it.

Welsh rugby has always been parochial by nature its what we are being Welsh, its not gonna change, this WRU board have little or no idea or concept of this, the silly bitter scarlet lot spouting is typical of this nature, until this WRU board is kicked out Welsh rugby has no chance. Mrs and eldest has bought us tickets for the Italy game for my 65th birthday which was last month, there's 8 of us going, I'm bizarrely quite looking forward to it

Wales is tribal It’s when I ask about Llanelli Swans fans They wouldn’t refer to themselves as Jacks as they detest Swansea Always have That bridge is a huge cultural divide Region rugby couldn’t work because of tribalism Ideally it should be east Wales v west Wales However Cardiff / Newport Swansea : Llanelli ? Never gonna happen This is the core issue , that and a Cardiff centric WRU who have always held Swansea in contempt It’s why I feel as I do about Cardiff yet our fans drink with them at Wales footy games Bah

WRU dined out on the successful Gatland's day's and put their collective heads in the sand without a thought about what would happen once the players of that era retired, failure to prepare for the future as lead us to this point in time, cutting a region isn't the answer because we'll have less player's to chose from and will without doubt miss out on at least a few talented players who will not come through, primarily because there are less rugby academies to go to and less money for the academies who remain. None are so blind than those who can't see. That sums up the WRU to a tee.

Do the WRU really think that having a development pathway covering an area from Bridgend to Pembroke and up to Aberystwyth will actually benifit, develop and encourage youngsters. Will there be benifits or will it actually be detrimental to the future and deter youngsters. Fair enough in the u18 and u20 sector but I can see the younger players not lasting that long with a massive drop out.
