Wales v Northern Ireland : International Friendly 04:29 - Mar 28 with 5560 viewsModeratorC

Wales are unbeaten in each of their last nine meetings with Northern Ireland in all competitions (W5 D4), since a 1-0 loss at Ninian Park in May 1980. Northern Ireland have won just one of their last 10 away games in all competitions (D2 L7), beating Luxembourg 3-1 in September 2025. Northern Ireland could lose four in a row on the road for the first time since November 2023, while they could lose three in a row without scoring for the first time since October 2018.

Dan James has scored in back-to-back international appearances for the very first time, netting against North Macedonia and Bosnia. This century, only four players have scored in three consecutive outings for the Dragons: Gareth Bale (3 times), Harry Wilson (2 times), John Hartson and Simon Davies.

Northern Ireland won their most recent game against a fellow home nation (England, Scotland, Wales), beating Scotland 1-0 in a March 2024 friendly.
Wales have won only one of their last 10 friendly matches (D5 L4), scoring in only two of those: 1-1 vs Czech Republic in March 2022 and 4-0 vs Gibraltar in October 2023.

I don't see the point of this game after the disappointment on Thursday, still gutted it was a game that we should have won

It’s a further risk of injury: overload of players
It’s why I’m
Not that keen on these breaks

Would have been a logistical nightmare if they had waited until Thursday night to then organize tickets without the game being on one way or another

No refunds wither Paul. The Northern Irish have refunded but FAW say No !

The game is sold out. Buy two tickets to be sure . That was the deal everyone knew.

Chance to see Colwill brother from Neath and maybe try Cotterill in midfield up from the u21and Koumas.

That was the deal. I shelled out £400 notes for 4 tickets for each game as part of the tournament ticket deal. Given the NI game is now a friendly, £50 per ticket is very steep. I’d like to see the FAW reduce the ticket price and give a partial refund to fans, or a discount on tickets for the next game.

Anyone who turns up on Tuesday should have a free ticket for the next game, you don't turn up Tuesday you don't get it. It will benifit true supporters but not the glory hunters.

You wouldn’t get a refund at a concert if the support act didn’t turn up.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Got to be one of the most stagnant weekends of football or international break even. Two weeks of abject football, I watched England and fell asleep.

There were some cracking rugby matches in the URC and EGP. 45,119 in Cardiff for the Bristol v Harlequins game, surely the biggest gate for any club game in any sport in Wales this season.

I'm sitting on my sunporch ater watching Wales fail while nursing my new knee (total knee replacement on March 16). Listening to my favorite artist, John Prine, and his song "Long Monday" and thought I would post the link to it here since that's what today is...a long Monday.

OHL, if you haven't checked out John Prine, one of America's best songwriters, then you need to do so.

There were also some good games in the Super Rugby Cymru tournament with Aberavon grabbing a win and Swansea losing by 1 point in a thriller against the runaway league leaders Ebbw Vale. The SRC league is about developing younger players so they can step up to the Ospreys, and to be fair Swansea and Aberavon embrace the concept unlike many other clubs.

On the down days when the Swans aren’t playing, there’s still some top sport to be found.

Just l watch Corrie. That is what you used to do on all other Cymru games. ou seemed a bit more interested these days.

It is a chance to give game time to youngsters. Koumas, Kiapko, Colwill brothers, Ward has not player for months. Call up Congreve from u21.
