If Connor Roberts had never previously played for us, the idea of signing him would be considered an absolute non-starter.
Cannot fathom the mindset that adds additional value to players with "local" connections to the club. It's basically the same one that excused Cullen's mediocrity for years. [Post edited 20 Aug 7:27]

Watched him this pm at the Albion. Tried manfully but you could see he is not the player he once was. Albion deserved the win they looked sharp , up for it and well organized. Burnley second best all round the park really.On this performance Albion will be up there at the seasons end | | | |

Burnley confirm Ahmedhodzic signing
Burnley have signed centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic from Feyenoord.
He has signed a four-year deal which is worth around £6m.
The 27-year-old returns to England just a year after leaving Sheffield United.
He helped the Sheff. UTD to Premier League promotion in 2023, and they were interested in bringing the defender back to Bramall Lane.
Southampton also expressed an interest in Ahmedhodzic.
Stoke complete Hirst signing
Stoke City have completed a £10m deal for Ipswich striker George Hirst.
Hirst scored 11 Championship goals last season as Ipswich were promoted from the championship .

A player I have always respected is Krystian Bielek . He is with West Brom . Dont know if he would be available but he is not in the team atm . Was with Brum and the supporters rated him Davies then changed the team and he was off to WBA . Had a dislocated shoulder which he has come back from well .
