There’s one absolute tw@t on the other site comparing Wales in the UK as Germany being run by France. He’s now all cock-a-hoop that PC have won the election and Wales is on its way to independence in the future. Aided and abetted by similar intellectually challenged posters.

If there was a party that supported Welsh independence but wanted to do it by weaning us off public sector dependence and turning Wales into a low tax, low regulation, business friendly country, basically the Singapore of Europe, then I'd absolutely consider voting for them.

She is absolutely right in exactly the same way that the late Peter Law was right about insane wastage on vanity projects, that came before desperately required NHS spending, millions upon millions poured down the drain.
And to think he was Labour, in fact seeing him lay into that idiot Rhodri Morgan was admirable. He was a better opposition player, at times than the opposition themselves.
Sadly the (SW Wales cancer specialist protest resignation aside) obscene ineptitude and reverse prioritisation has been relentless with vital services being blatantly ignored.
It happened to a close family member of mine who had cancer, the wait to see an oncologist took six weeks from diagnosis's, the treatment promised never arrived on time, it took so long that he became to weak to have it.
That was over twenty years ago, nothings changed for many. Sadly I was recently told last week of a guy who had a rare leukemia type (CMML) he needlessly died before he could have therapy promised. He was suitable and had gone to Cardiff and was given the go ahead, because he was an ideal candidate. His treatment arrived too late also. The delays are unforgivable.
Sobering to think that idiots have voted for that monstrosity in Cardiff Bay, are obviously completely oblivious to the thousands that have needlessly died, or died way earlier than they should have.
The A+E figures last year (close to a thousand) who died needlessly did not include dying before an ambulance arrived, or from preventable illness progression and impactive prognosis/outcomes made worse by appalling delays! Fancy voting to have a loved one to die lying in their own faeces and urine whilst waiting 12+ hours for an ambulance to turn up. Sick innit! [Post edited 12 May 23:31]

Another interesting fact! I am NOT a WALT this is the truth!
When an elderly Welsh patient with a fractured pelvis (just as one example) is still waiting for an ambulance many hours after a fall, Welsh NHS will ring with a follow-up to the 999 callers/patients residence to reassure that the person of concern has not been forgotten, and to access the current situation.
Often concerned relatives demand that paramedics/ambulance arrive a.s.a.p by stating the patient’s obvious pain/distress, and the fact that it has been many hours since that person has gone to the toilet.
The advise/protocol given about going to the toilet?
If possible and advisable, cut away clothing with a pair of scissors to prevent further injury/damage/illness, place a towel underneath and have the stricken individual urinate/defecate in situ, sofa, floor, bed. It is not advisable for O.A.P patients with chronic kidney disease to hold their water in for hours on end.
That is the modern day devolved Welsh NHS! That is where 27 years of Cardiff Bay has taken us. Third world or what! And people have voted for it and celebrate "an absolutely brilliant result" .... Thank God my conscience is clear! [Post edited 12 May 23:33]

I seldom agree with your postings, but on the Ugandan trees business I tend to agree with you. The money spent over the course of the project is in the overall context of things very small, but it’s a sum that would make a huge difference to the lives of the people in that area.

Well, we never heard a peep from certain sections of the media at the Westminster elections about Boris’s spending on rainforests, but the media certainly made an issue of it during the Senedd election!
I believe that what we’ve seen from certain quarters is hypocrisy, and in the grand scheme of things it’s my belief that the Uganda rainforest issue is an example of a mountain being made out of a mole hill, but that’s my view.
In my opinion there are 2 Welsh issues which have damaged the Welsh Labour Party, the first is the 20mph speed limit - we’ve had 500,000 people sign a petition which reflects the strength of feeling against the policy and while there’s been some tinkering around the edges following the backlash, by enlarge things have barely changed. The second issue is the increase in AM’s - I get that we’ve lost MP’s but we didn’t need more AM’s particularly when we’ve got 21 local authorities in Wales!
Another factor was Vaughan Gething and the £200k contribution to his leadership campaign!!
I am glad Labour have been booted out, they deserved to be sacked. Eluned Morgan inherited a poison chalice, but I have no sympathy for her, she can suck it up and do one!

Looks like you might be right in your analysis of the current level of chaos at No 10.
Skin like a rhino Starmer could now survive a coup and carry on being being as an unpopular and untrusted leader of the UK , wonder why Cymru chucked him out though .
Streeting , Milliband and Angie ready to have a go soon and make that challenge but sadly it seems is now impossible .
