I realise that this decision (by councillors) was made before the Senedd election (of MSs). What I was trying to say is that I had hoped the election result would convey the message that the public don't like nanny state policies but think the success of Plaid will only lead to more of the same. I fear that the lack of real change will make councillors think they can press ahead with telling the public what is best for them. [Post edited 10 May 19:10]

Labour are proposing a tax for staycations in this country for Brits . So if a family wants to visit the seaside they will have to pay for the privilege in the form of a tax .
So there we have it ... not only having to bathe in water which most of the time is unfit due to sewage outfalls but having to pay extra on top .
Now I would say that our seaside towns need all the help they can get in what is a seasonal ability to make money dependent to a great extent on decent summer weather . I visited Newquay last year and I was shocked by the rundown state of it - empty shops and businesses . This will be a kick in the teeth for many of those resorts and for some may be the end of the line. | | | |
