She sent me a note to say that last night there was trouble in many parts of Paris, she says some areas are now not really policed because of the risk of organised violence against the police. A number of years ago we visited a French Centre Parc and on our way back we detoured to Euro Disney and stayed at a lovely Air BNB with a French family. We were warned in no uncertain terms to avoid the 18, 19 and 20th Arrondissements and anything between the North and East points on the compass outside of the peripherique ring road. Big no go areas. Needless to say we took the advice.

Agree that France (as well as Italy) can be pretty challenging, although it is some years since I went on the Boulevard Périphérique and I'm sure it must be worse now. However, my nomination for worst city driving is Vietnam, where the motor bike swarms in big cities are something to behold, even compared with other Asian countries. Last time I was in Da Nang my taxi from the airport to the hotel side-swiped and knocked over one rider and carried on without stopping or any apparent concern. Any other nominations for worst driving environment? | | | |

Bulgarias pretty bad . I hired a car there and had only driven 10 miles or so and witnessed 3 accidents . In one there were 2 guys squaring up to each other on the side of the road steam pouring out of the crumpled bonnet of one car .
I also witnessed a car pull out and overtake in front of us , 3 cars , when approaching a blind bend . Sheer madness but he got away with it. The motorways were not very well surfaced but a bit better than the town roads . Drove up towards Varna from Sunny Beach area and then North West towards Romania . It was a long time ago now so hopefully things have changed for the better.ĺ | | | |

Been to Italy, in the last 8 months been to Milan and Rome and without any problems. Maybe we got lucky but used the metro in both cities, wandered around a lot, specially in Rome and it was all good. | | | |

Amman, driving into the centre on a two lane ' motorway ' the traffic backed up. Soon they were driving over the central reservation and using the other carriageway in the wrong direction. When that backed up they took to driving through a large tented market on the other side of the road.
Every car in Amman has a dent, if you are in a queue and leave a couple of metres of space someone will force their car into the gap. My hire car had loads of scrapes and scratches there's no checking the condition of the car when you collect or return it.
Sicily is the fastest driving I've witnessed, you don't use your mirror in Sicily you just go for it, the unwritten rule is that you just have to avoid what's in front of you. I drove there three weeks and found myself driving like a lunatic on tmy first day back to work! | |

Not driven in Italy but Naples to me looked a bit random as far as the highway code was concerned 😳 Lima in Peru is another place where you don't see many cars without dents in them . | | | |

I got lost in Montreal after heading to the Sherbrooke area for the fall
Ok I’m an advanced driver and lucid but Montreal has bridges
We were staying in the centre and could see our Hotel from the bridge
However the one way system is notorious and having taken the wrong exit became ensconced on a non very salubrious part of the city
Things were that had , it was getting dark and being a reasonable French speaker was volunteered to find a bar and ask for help
Québécois aren’t exactly friendly to English speakers but got by because my accent wasn’t American
Some lovely guy offered to get onto our hire car and show me
It was five mins away
We had been lost for two hours solid

I was in Ho Chi Minh City when me and my mates saw someone killed being knocked of her Nick. Police just put the body by the side of the road to clear the lane . | | | |
