We had a similar problem in Reading down by the riverside a few years back, tent city - no idea where they went but the filth around the Station Hill area was awful for a time but now seems to have gone away until the next wave....
We are not meant to live like this for the taxes we pay....
I sympathise with genuine homelessness but a lot of this is addiction driven ...

Few years ago entering Birmingham via Bristol Rd . and there was a roundabout en route covered with tented homeless , their choice or not live that way maybe .
As a welcome to Birmingham advertisment it was not a good look to a visitor making a call .
Tele documentary screened some years ago looking at the homeless in Swansea and the sad fact was a lot of the people involved could not live under a roof and wanted to exist as they are .
Some had a tenancy agreement in place but choose to live on the streets instead and left their allocated flat soon after .

Don’t do it , any of it , ever
They don't want to stay in hostels, with rules and regs. They want independence, and living on the streets is a better alternative. They need their own places like everyone does
