Extended families and the UK's open border 09:27 - Jul 16 with 19023 viewsAnotherJohn

We saw the story last week about the migrant care worker who managed to get visas for 15 dependents. The latest tale concerns the Palestinian refugee whom a UK court ruled should be allowed to be reunited with 18 extended family members because of the mental pain of being parted from them. This case was brought under the EHCR 'right to a family life' provision. The pressure cooker is going to go bang soon if this continues.

I’ve no idea but why they and others including our beloved King 🤮 keeps repeating the mantra that Islam is a religion of peace , pieces maybe after some poor buggers been chopped , stabbed etc all in the name of some mythical sky jockey. All religions including the Christian faith had dark passages of violence so that can’t be ignored either but I do find it troubling that atm a minority of people who follow the Islamic faith has such a hold on our everyday lives . If you’re not eating it you hear it and if not that you see it .

Wrong , you must have forgotten the Glasgow Airport attack. and yes open borders were introduced by Blair during his tenure .

The 2007 Glasgow Airport attack is the right answer, but Scotia did not even identify the next incident of this kind. On 22nd March 2017 the Islamist Khalid Masood drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge killing 3 and injuring nearly 50. Then on June 3rd 2017, three Islamists drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in Borough Market (with a total of 8 pedestrians plus the 3 attackers dead and around 50 injured).. It was only on June 19th 2017 that Darren Osborne drove a car into worshippers outside Finsbury Park Mosque, resulting in one death, probably from a heart attack. This may well have been a copy-cat attack. Doesn't it tell us something when three Islamist attacks causing 15 deaths are forgotten, while an attack involving a single fatality at the hands of a 'far right' assailant sticks in the mind?

Which is why I asked the question
We cannot have people actively supporting a religion based on hatred
Diverse it is not
No religion should be “ respected)
Praying before killing is just evil
So what do they pray for five times daily exactly

The Glasgow airport attack was a car bomb, the Westminster bridge attack was primarily attack on the Palace of Westminster. The attacker apparently drove along the pavement to avoid traffic.

Both evil men, but nothing to do with Blair and his "open borders" one was British for starters.

I don't really like the attempt to belittle the Finsbury Park attack, but won't comment further.

One of only two attacks in the UK where a vehicle is the primary weapon was that attack, the other (much larger scale attack) was undertaken by a white, ex serviceman, fortunately nobody was killed. Was that a copycat? Can that be blamed on immigration?

Nice to know that you can dismiss the fact that a vehicle was used to try and murder innocents because a bomb was used , must be comforting to those who were involved that a bomb and not a 1 half ton solid mass primary means to try and murder . Blair and his policies had started the decline of this country and no matter how many times you stick your head in the sand that won’t alter the fact .

Blaming the current, undeniable, issues with immigration at Blair is a bit daft.

Yes to be fair pretty much everyone who arrived illegally under Blair were removed pretty quickly. I’m one of Blair’s biggest critics but give credit where it’s due.

I’d add that the ones who came legally from EU countries pretty much left post brexit too.

And London Bridge? If you are going to count Doyle’s Liverpool rampage as terrorism (when the conviction was for malicious wounding, GBH and dangerous driving), you might as well throw in Valdo Calocane’s van attack in Nottingham, involving murdering the driver and injuring three at a bus stop. We shouldn’t forget another recent Islamist car ramming and stabbing when Jihad Al-Shamie attacked a Manchester synagogue last year.

Nobody mentioned terrorism, but I think that emphasises the point. The largest attack involving only a car as a weapon at a large scale gathering was committed by a British ex royal engineer.

The preventative measures seen in places like the Air Show and around the Swansea.com stadium are the keep the public safe from any source.

I'm not even denying car ramming isn't a typical method of islamic extremist terrorism (it is) but blaming it on the immigration policies of a prime minister from 30 years ago operating under an entirely different set of immigration legislation is laughable.

Well, if you want to peddle that nonsense, up to you. I'd say the largest UK ramming attack is probably Masood's rampage that killed 3 (plus another who died later) and injured 50 on Westminster bridge. That ridiculous theory of your's that Masood only drove on the pavement to avoid traffic is contradicted by all the published reports I've seen. Readers can check this for themselves..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

It was, of course, the two bridge attacks in London that led to the appearance of bollards in many locations around the capital. The pattern of Islamist attacks is generally ramming as the primary means of killing, followed up by a knife attack when the vehicle comes to a halt. There are multiple examples across Europe.

I have no interest in the Blair angle, just the facts surrounding the various attacks.

The salient facts are that most of these attacks in the UK have been undertaken by British people. The attack in Liverpool injured three times the number of people, it's a miracle nobody died. If you wish to sweep it under the carpet then that's up to you.

Masood was born "Adrian Elms". This thread is about immigration, immigrants aren't the most significant problem and immigration is not the root cause.

I maintain the problem people have with immigrants is from the misrepresentation of immigration and in most cases Islam. Often coming from racist sources and influencing those who are quite naive and scared. This naivety and fear is triggered by mainstream right wing media doing exactly the same but less obviously.

The posts on here regarding armed police and road blockages came very shortly after and almost identical post on social media from "voice of Wales". It may of course be a coincidence but the misrepresentation is the same.

Again you seem keen to excuse Muslim fundamental beliefs
You also underestimate the nihilism of Afr Can migrants who are chances coming from lands where females are subservient by decree
Coming from a land where the English receive more hatred and are seen as a bigger threat then it’s truly ironic

No religion should underpin a nation , neither Christianity nor Islam

We are not a “ Christian country as too many do not believe in the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice for us

I believe your standpoint to be misguided

Not at all, islamic extremist terrorists are scum. Plain and simple.

One of the biggest problems is a lack of integration, it is probably the most incorrectly used word in the English language.

In several of the recent attacks said to have been committed by British people, the background of the assailants is complicated, with first, second or third generation immigrants involved in family situations. Masood’s birthname came from his unmarried white English mother, rather than his unidentified black father. The mother later married Phillip Ajao, who is of Nigerian descent, and Ajao was the name Masood went under at school. Masood’s wife is of Gambian heritage. My own view is that it is misleading to label such people as British domestic terrorists, if by that one conveys the impression that these are persons with uncomplicated multi-generational UK roots.

The small boats and illegals has been a topic no Government has managed to control .

Tories and Labour have both thrown the towel in and lets chuck money at France to appease and cover the useless Border Controls , Starmer tried his best but his own red tape got him .

More concerning is this new Messiah Burnham has not even mentioned the subject or his ideas on tackling the chaos on our shores .

Would have given him a chance but so far , same horse different jockey on immigration .

Lets not upset my voters please .
