If you had read it properly you would have seen that I called for all sides to rein it in and come to a compromise. That includes Israel.
I have no idea what a “culture de sac” is. I assume you meant cul-de-sac but that analogy also wouldn’t work as cul-de-sacs by their very nature do not contain slow lanes. They are not motorways or duel carriageways, they are very much based in residential areas.
Your haphazard reference to the IRA confirms my point. The Good Friday agreement could have only ever come about when all sides genuinely wanted an end to hostilities, and all sides came to a major compromise to achieve it. Of course there were still horrific attacks carried out by the remnants of the IRA for years after the GFA. It seems that leopards always struggle to change their spots. But the peace generally remains.
How far away are we in comparison to a similar sort of agreement in the Middle East? Millions of miles. There’s just no appetite for it as things stand. | |

Israel gave Gaza to the Palestinians in 1967. They lived there in peace for 6 days. After the PLPF and the PLO, we had the Camp David agreement. The peace lasted 6 days. Hamas need to be removed once and for all.
Hezbollah, another Iranian terrorist organisation, was driven out of Lebanon in 2006 where Israel returned home. Hezbollah re-armed and returned after 6 days.
Under the United Nations Security Council Resolution 17 01, Hezbollah must disarm and return their terrorists north of the Litani River. they have done neither. They have killed 4 UN peacekeepers in their daily attacks in the last 6 weeks.
In 2018, there was an appeal for concrete for Gaza to build schools and hospitals. It all went on building tunnels.
