In my entire history of following the Swans I'm not sure if there's ever been another player as critically mauled and doubted so often despite being actually quite good as Jay Fulton.
I actually thought “oh no” when I saw the team sheet but I was convinced he was playing them as two DM’s which just invites pressure on us. So glad to see them both in their natural positions and thriving together. Great performances by both and our passing was sublime at times. Fulton assisted the assisted twice and quite honestly each goals decisive pass came from him. Brilliant

Hope Opoku keeps his standard of play up fullback didn't know whether to mark him tight or drop off either way a good first touch, a turn of pace and caused the full back problem under the high ball.
Long season ahead if they had taken a chances or two would we be so happy, nice we won the game coming back from going behind, the Just, Opoku and Lissah on the right gives an attacking threat equal to the one on the left with Tymon's movement and crosses, will gaps be left as we get forward the team work should be such to make those gaps a rarity. Nice win.

One swallow doesn't make.a summer we desperate for another Ch after Burgess injury. Lissah is a good prospect but it was great Matos taking him off he got out paced out muscled and gave ball away cheaply. Need Ch asap.
Get a RB instead and leave Lissah compete for his natural positions- CB or even back up CDM. He was up against a very good player in Sorba so he did well in my opinion.

Same. I fully expected the two of them to be sitting deep and they did for a bit. Credit to Matos though it looked like Stamenic got pushed forward into a far more suitable CM position and both did well after that.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I loved the close interplay. Everyone seemed so comfortable doing it and all the passes weren't just passing for the sake of it. It was to get the ball forward. And the assist crosses for both goals came from 3/4 players all working together to create the situation rather than just a give and go. I loved it. And real pace down both flanks kept them on the back foot. And when the subs that come on are Widdell, Idah, Eom and Walta you realise how strong our bench is now.
Off hand the only negative I can think of is that they got behind our defence a few times in the first half from free kicks. The second half seemed better. Maybe it was just Ben and Stephen getting used to each others play.
That result and performance should put a couple of thousand extra on the gate next Saturday.

Matos just learned that all of a sudden he has found a cracking CDM - not in the transfer market but down the back of the sofa! I’d like to get a very good RB in , leave Lissah to compete for CB or if Fulton is missing play CDM. Stanenic isn’t made for that role and the two complimented themselves perfectly yesterday which made for a dominant midfield. We know there’s going to have to be a ton of rotation during any Championship season but if we spent a good 5 million on that RB perhaps we could keep Vipotnik and not fall foul of the finance rules.
On the game itself - Matos had his preseason and most of the recruitment he wanted so it was all in a way about him today. And he proved himself to really be THE man for the job. Our football is of a different dimension now and wonderful one touch football which will see us top end competitive. A big shout out to the owners who have totally transformed the squad with some excellent player recruitment. All in all the glass is three quarters full!
I think this is the season to Blood Lissah in at RB. We go spending £5m on another right back and all of a sudden he's back on the bench or back out on loan.
Assuming Ronald is off I'd like another RW in to give backup to Opoku. Inoussa was nowhere to be seen yesterday 🤷♂️
We have 6 midfielders vying for 3 spots (Franco, Widell, Stamenic, Just, Fulton and Walta) so we've probably got enough numbers/depth there when Franco comes back, if we bring another in it will mean someone is going to play less a part.
If Stamenic is pushed further up and not going to be considered as a holding DM going forward then that's clearly where the need would be greatest to give Fulton support/competition in that role as well as succession planning to take over that role when he eventually departs/hangs up his boots. Seems that's the thinking with Matos trying to sign fell-seck a week ago.
