| Swansea City v Norwich City : The Indy Match Thread on 20:28 - Oct 10 by jack247 | We were a little bit off our rythm, as I’m sure Norwich were. Disagree with those saying they were the better team in the first half, we weren’t quite clicking, but I thought they offered very little until the goal, which was a sloppy mistake more than them creating anything. Massive cliche, but picking up points when you aren’t at your best is a sign of a great team |
yes must agree, not at our best but a good win,now onto Tuesday and another tough game against a side in form, get something there and that will show if we can surprise a few this season as we are now

Those intricate short passes on half way which then freed Widell who somehow managed to keep his pass in play to release Franco. And what a cross that was. 👏🏻 A very enjoyable game. We are playing some good stuff. The strongest squad since our Premier League days. Good to see Toshack there. With Wyndham Evans and Curtis. Who else from 1981?

Glad to see Idah getting on the end of that cross and dfinishing it so well. On initial games I thought Opoku would be the winger to watch but Yeo has been great and this with amidfield that has been chopped and changed but then again credit to Matos with selection and rotation.to suit who we play and who to bring on to best effect, he has been force into some descions by injury and seeing Franco coming back, that midfield has a lot of options to pick from, long may our good fortunes continue. Are referee's descions determined or given by our position in the league? Which then works in the higher teams, us included, favour? [Post edited 11 Oct 15:16]

Re. selection and rotation, I did think we missed Eustacquio in terms of fluency. Fulton had a very good game playing to his strengths and he certainly snuffed out Norwich attacks. I prefer him further forward though, he’s not the player to take it from centre backs in tight spaces and move it quickly through midfield. I don’t really know what the answer is there without Eustacquio because neither Franco nor Stamenic are suited to it. As an aside, I know we had players returning from the other side of the world, but I’m not sure I like Fulton, Franco and Widell as a starting midfield, I rate them all, but are all fairly similar. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Swansea City v Norwich City : The Indy Match Thread on 17:05 - Oct 11 with 714 views | Dr_Winston | Have long championed Widell as a more central option but yesterday is making me rethink that. He found a lot more space on the occasions that he drifted wider. Franco did a lot of good work off the ball, but he was the weakest one of the three on it yesterday. Just wanted more time on the ball than he had, and not as strong holding it up as he seemed to think he was. Of the three Fulton is probably the best in that DM role, but yeah, he's probably better playing more towards the halfway line than deep. Eustaquio has the #6 sewn up when fit. | |
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

Of the three yes, and I’d probably add Stamenic to that. We just don’t have anyone to step in for Eustacquio and play the same way. Fulton and Franco can both play the deep role if you want them to shield the centre backs and break up attacks. Franco is more dynamic, Fulton is much more positionally disciplined, both can do that well. You wouldn’t want either playing the ‘quarterback’ role that is key to how Matos wants us to play.

I expect fulton and stamenic to start on Tuesday. Hopefully eustacquio will be fit enough on Saturday to be on the bench at least.
| Swansea City v Norwich City : The Indy Match Thread on 17:34 - Oct 12 with 381 views | joserobertorene | Sorry for the late post with my review and reading the article—the kickoff was at 5:30 AM over here in Mexico! So I waited for the club to upload it to YouTube and stayed completely off social media so I could watch the match as if it were live. I have to point out that before Norwich scored, we played with incredible intensity and supreme confidence. I absolutely loved the style of play; unfortunately, we just lacked that bit of sharpness in the final third to get a goal. Idah wasn't at his sharpest, but he never lost his confidence, and if we can just click on those final details, we're going to be a force to be reckoned with. Also, fair play to Norwich—they played really well. I don't think their league position does them justice because they look like a proper side. The second half started with that same high intensity, and the confidence came straight back. That’s what stands out most about this team: they’re actually believing it now. They believe we’re top of the table and riding a great wave. On an individual level, we've had real stability between the sticks over the last few seasons, but Vigoroux gives me a special sense of calm. Lissah—wow, what potential! What a prospect we have on our hands with him. Cabango got his confidence and level back with the national team and looked spotless. Welsh—blimey, what can you say about him? For me, he’s currently our signing of the season. It's almost scary how well he plays the ball—such a cool, composed head, the likes of which I haven't seen in a long time. Tymon was reliable as ever. Franco has had a great comeback and always brings quality. Fulton continues to surprise me; feels like he’s got a second wind and his contribution is top drawer. Widell, honestly, isn't my favourite player—I see plenty of hunger, he's an tireless engine, but at times his inaccuracy is shocking. And I don't just say that because of his mistake for the first goal, it's something that happens to him quite often, but he had a very strong second half that showed his quality—that's the Widell we brought in. Yeo looked dead quick and full of belief. Opoku wasn't at his sharpest either but still played with confidence. As for Idah, even though he could've bagged a couple more goals, he never gave up; he’s such a powerful, unique player in this league who can offer us so much. Above all, I'd highlight the belief we show on the pitch, the intense style, the sharp short passing in triangles, the explosive long balls, and a rock-solid defence. Onwards and upwards! | |
