| Swans defender Stephen Welsh : Is exhaustion playing a part ? on 19:24 - Oct 27 by Whiterockin | Seelt and Welsh are different types of players in my opinion, Welsh is better on the floor and Seelt in the air and should be picked to combat the opposition strengths. But there is nothing wrong with changing on 70 minutes. But Matos does normally use all his subs and prefers to change the hardworking players further forward. |
Fair comment, just saying that if Matos does decide to rest the lad, Seelt is an able deputy.

Fair comment about Cabango with seelt, but seelts pedigree should see him cope quite comfortably I'd hope anyway, Cabango is Cabango he always looks like he's got a mistake in him.

| Swans defender Stephen Welsh : Is exhaustion playing a part ? on 19:32 - Oct 27 by Whiterockin | Thank you. I think some don't realise that I am right behind Matos and the team and my questioning is sometimes seen as negative. I think it is right to question as things are not always right, a week or so ago I was questioning our homegrown policy and looking at the issues, it seem that was correct. |
Some of us have been asking since the summer. As we stated this morning, it’s a shame the club didn’t. Absolute schoolboy error.

Its weird how no one mentions the good things he does only the mistakes.

Without a doubt, players can also get mentally tired as well as physically. Sometimes I wonder how Tymon just keeps going, the man is a machine.

Without a doubt, is it a flaw in the Jamestown Analytics system? Even then we should have picked it up. I know some don't like me asking questions regarding the club.

Yeah, no one mentions the good things, they just post when he makes a mistake, which this season hasnt happened alot. Melker has cost us two goals, one of them very vital yet didnt get anywhere near the lambasting that cabango would have got if he had made a similar mistake. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Thats the problem with defenders mate a mistake is often a goal and everyone sees it on the highlights, further forward and players make mistakes and some who don't watch the game don't see them unless its a poor attempt on goal again shown on the highlights. I wouldn't take any notice of OHL, he said throughout the match day thread that he couldn't get a stream then spent the evening slagging off the players. Sums things up really.

Yes when defenders makes mistakes its highlighted more that when a midfielder makes one that leads to a goal. And btw I dont take notice of anyone who spouts negativity.

So true....alledgedly he is crap with the ball at his feet yet misswd his dribble from just inside our half...and into the West Ham penalty area Apparantly he is to blame for all the QPR goals too....I sometimes wonder what games some of or fans are watching

Ben is a good player when he has his forward passing head on.

Just logged on to this thread and was about to post the same about mentally tired. Welsh is now playing at a higher intensity level and also getting his first cap for Scotland. In his interview when he signed he said about giving his all It wouldn't be a surprise if he needs a short rest. He's made a great start to his life here, and has already made himself a fans favourite. I'm sure if he is tired physically or mentally it will be a one game break. Sports science and the medical team will be all over it if needed.

Doubt it the club have only brought in three maximum from them, possibly only two. The actual rulings of the game should be known to the club, they slipped up, there’s a lot more to running a football club than talking about Snoop Dogg and Modric. They (the club) or at least the decision makers clearly didn’t know about the rules, otherwise Jamestown would have sourced appropriately. Buck stops at the top of the tree.

I haven't mentioned any particular mistake, in fact I can't think of one off top of my head, he's had a lot great games that's without doubt, but like anyone in the last line of defence when a mistake does occur it stands out, more so than someone in midfield which gets forgotten I agree, I'm not or rather I don't mean to single him out, just saying that he's got a mistake in him. Can't disagree, will we need a major reshuffle in January.

I think there was one where he slipped and Qpr player crossed for Kone to score, but you can't judge a slip as a mistake in fairness.

Always thought a few too many pints after the game helps lift a team or at least clears the air as to who messed up in the game. Nice early training session the following morning where luckily you can't remember what was said or by whom. Quite enjoyed an engagement do on a Friday night before a game, but in the following days game you had to let the ball do the moving as your head, legs and stomach object to anything too physical such as running. You just had to play football. Would Shankly have condoned the boys having a few pints?

Totally agree I dont get this thing anout proffesional sportpersons being fatigued or exhausted. They train to be fit, they have dieticians, sports scientists monitoring them. They exert them selves for a max of 270 mins a week if there are 3 games and them its not flat out for the full 90 mins in each game. Many of our forfathers did heavy physical work sometimes 12 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week.

If I may … Yes indeed that bit the case but we are old farts from a generation that saw 1. A father 2 One that worked 3. A mum who stayed home and looked after children with no wash machine, disposable nappies, tumble driers ,vacuum cleaners, air friers , fridge , freezer , not to mention car Parents who gave a shit Sportsmen were harder , cricket , rugby , tennis , golf , you name it Moyor sport immeasurably safer And on and on However , these days we have possibly a greater mental challenge rather than physical Football is faster although less violent ; same with rugby In short, people are softer now and gym fit rather than natural fit Old miners , steelworkers , shipbuilders were fit and strong by their job My own family had a building business and my father a master brickie who was very tough with hands like shovels My mothers mother never had an inside toilet nor bathrooom all their lives so I get your point Players these days I would contend , like their contemporaries are just more fragile especially mentally And I avoided the “ I” word

There are loads of championship clubs with injuries that dont have any internationals. Ateotd they are professional footballers who do nothing else apart from training for and playing football. This is just one player with issues. Sorry to say but this report is a load of bollox. [Post edited 27 Oct 18:02]

I saw your posts last night, I decided not to comment then because the smell of alcohol in very word was overwhelming. Stay away from the internet when drinking is my only advice to you. And possibly try to read something for what it is not for what you want it to be. I also resent you turning my work into a hate campaign against others.
