Sleaford by election well done Labour. 16:41 - Dec 9 with 1560 viewspikeypaul

Another humiliation for Labour only around 3300 votes just a week after they got 1500 votes and lost their deposit in a constituency where they have 1600 members.

Jezza your doing a fine job, keep it up son.

Ps Jeeza next time your on a train don't be a tvvat and take a spare seat, don't sit on the floor outside the toilet like a tramp.

They stopped listening years ago but you still get the sheep in places like Neath voting for them because their grand parents did.Its been said here before if Hitler stood in Neath for Labour he would win.

I think the winds are changing around here though. Their majority has been slashed at every election recently. They are under little threat currently as their main rivals Plaid are even more inept if that's at all possible. But labour cannot continue to take the Welsh for granted or eventually they'll be wiped out like they were in Scotland.

True, even George Osbourne has said today that it's bad for the country when the opposition is such a mess and can not offer the country an alternative.

The Tories are still laughing their cocs off at terrorist supporting Corbyn becoming the Labour leader.

Admittedly the turnout was low, and I wouldnt expect Labour to win the seat, but given that the electorate for the constituency is approximately 85,000, Labour only polling 3400 is poor.
Although they got just over 10% of the actual votes cast, another way of putting it shows the true horror of Labour's performance: only 4% of the registered electorate in the constituency could be bothered to get off their backsides and vote Labour. !!

Yep.

Labour have been hi-jacked by the middle class Liberal piggery.

Nye Bevan will appear to them over the Festive Season in a sweaty Prosecco and Dolcelatte induced Nightmare as the The Ghost of Socialism Past....

Most of them won't recognise him...

So we go the Far Right with all the bloody internecine consequences, saw this happening 15 years ago to be honest...

If you ignore the masses the masses will rise against the classes...

I honestly think corbyn, is purposely destroying the labour party. Why else would he put Dianne Abbott in such a high position? It doesn't make sence. He doesn't make sense. He is definitely trying to destroy the labour party. There is no way he could be so out of touch with the people and not realise it.

I've said the same the last couple of years.
The thing that gets me is how stupid so called Labour supporters can be not realise he is nailing the coffin.
But if they are that stupid and obviously they are they deserve extinction.

I know Sleaford very well. I can honestly say that it is full of people just like my father in law.
Classic leave voters.
Nice elderly people, but closet racists. They would never talk or act openly in a racist way, but behind closed doors and in a secret ballot it all comes out.

When pressed, they would say they voted leave over sovereignty.

Yep, Labour are screwed with Corbyn at the helm.

As for Labour "not listening to the working class" etc etc, what exactly do you guys mean? I'm not saying you are wrong necessarily but I think it's just a bit of a lazy way to describe a phenomenon. Precisely what policies are not in tune with the working class?

And which party's policy is representative of the working class? If you're gonna argue that Labour should've supported Brexit because that's what the working class wanted, you could be right. But it would be a cold day in hell before Labour (in their eyes) sacrificed the prosperity of the nation for generations just because they wanted to win one or two general elections.

So exactly which non-Labour policies are in tune with the masses? And if the working man is so fed up at being left behind, it's a little odd that he would turn to more right-wing parties instead (as seen in the last 5-6 years). Cutting ones nose to spite ones face....

All ears too. How much worse can it be?

We live in truly bizarre times. We're 'governed' by utter criminals whose sole purpose is to sell off the country's infrastructure into private hands, as fast as humanly possible, saddling the proles with a literally unrepayable national debt.

http://www.nationaldebtclock.co.uk/

Seriously, visit that site and then consider your kids and grandkids. Things aren't going to get better, they're not designed to. This is our legacy to them.

The Overton Window has looked out over Neoliberalism for so long that it's we have an almost Stockholm Syndrome - getting utterly fleeced is so normal we're only content when it's occurring.

If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever.

Because despite decades of evidence to the contrary, Corbyn is still convinced that the British electorate are desperate for the kind of extreme left bullshit that he's peddling. He's spent his entire political life living in that fantasy and it's far too late to change now.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Perhaps she's got something on him. We've all heard about the alleged Polaroids of an allegedly naked Abbott that Jezza allegedly used to show off.

Perhaps she's got some of him bollock naked, spread eagled and legs akimbo with a look that says "penetrate me like they penetrated Trotsky".

In my opinion you've got this completely the wrong way round.

Working class people voting for the globalist, high-immigration, soft-on-crime Left cos "i is working class like my Grandad and I hate the Tories" are the nose-cutting face-spiters.

The orthodox are always orthodox, regardless of the orthodoxy.

This x10!

Although I must say that there is a genuine dichotomy as to why people will vote Labour in places like Neath or Swansea East compared to, let's say, Brent or Haringey. The Labour people you will meet on the knocker in this neck of the woods try and sell a vision that is more akin to that of Ms Le Pen in France than Comrade Corbyn in London.

What do I mean by that? Here the theme is going to be about defence of local industry and manufacturing rather than breast-beating about Iraq, Palestine or Timbuctoo. The open-border hobby-horse of the Metropolitan Labour Party is as bewildering to those boys in work with me who vote Labour as it is to those of us who don't.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

That's fine, I respect your opinion of course.

But it doesn't answer my question of "which policies should the Labour Party promote on behalf of the working man?"

I'm not asking which policies would appeal to the working man, I'm asking what policies would actually make the life of a working man better?
