Kasey Palmer Recalled 18:39 - Jan 5 with 2004 viewsKeithHaynes

By Bristol City

Official site
Kasey Palmer has been recalled from his loan spell with Swansea City by parent club Bristol City.

The midfielder joined the Swans on a season-long loan at the end of the domestic window in October.

However, the deal included a recall option which has been taken up by the Robins and Kasey will return to Ashton Gate.

The 24-year-old made 12 appearances during his time in SA1, scoring his solitary goal in the win over Stoke.

Shame for Kasey but just wasn't better than what we have, seemed an odd signing from the off, as did Gyokeres.

Bit of a meh from me.

Would have kept him in preference to Gyokeres but that’s about it.

They have major injury issues in midfield so they need him back, I'm sure they'd take Smith back if they could right now, quite a few on their board regretting that they released him.

Groo does what Groo does best

It was not odd. It was the simple replacement of Gibbs White while he was injured. The logic was very clear and executed exactly.

Not when we have Yan already there who is the better player by miles.

There were better options out there on loan for a player who was solely going to be used as cover, or someone from U23s. I know you'd prefer our youngsters to be going to places like Cyprus for the sunbathing, but I want to see our academy players given minutes before bringing in a loanee who isn't as good as what we already have.

Call-back-itis season

Let's hope Wolves don't come calling - they're recalling someone up top as we speak

I thought he played well when he came on in games. He got stuck in kept the ball well and scored the odd goal. He also stood up to J McClean when he had a go at Conner.

He’s been a useful member of our first team squad albeit too inconsistent to be a regular. Had some very good moments but against Reading for example he was terrible. There’s definitely a player in there somewhere but he really needs to improve his consistency if he wants to make progress.

He has been plagued with his choice of partner over the years, didn't help him at Chelsea, and hasn't really gone away. Twitter, social media the undoing of many a decent footballer. As Gary Neville once said, You know about David Bekham, his wife, his kids, his life, but nobody off the cuff can name Paul Scholes wife.

Just read that back, Its a song :-)

Ah right

I get the impression with him that he’s not totally focussed on his football so that makes sense. He’s not maximising his ability at present I’d say...

Stability away from the pitch is so important isn’t it.

Yes indeed but even more so in professions like top level football where that extra few percent can make such a difference.

As you said Dhanda twice the player we all see things differently as fans like the Grimes debate some rate him some don't. Palmer twisted and turned well and was hard to disposses. He also got stuck in as he did when he went in with the keeper and scored.

Dhanda is twice the player, stuck in you say pushed off the ball ,never tracked his runners,no he didn't get stuck in when he scored he was brave yes but that's what you expect when the ball 60/40 yours .not good enough

Dhanda does show moments of brilliance. He would be playing every week if Cooper thought he had a 90 min complete game. For example losing ball against Bournemouth in acres of space in the middle of the pitch which as a result Bournmouth should of scored from. He still learning the game. We all see the game differently.

Not after the first time eh

I think this is actually a bonus for us, we don't really need him (assuming no one else is recalled) and it frees up space and money for a striker, hopefully.

If Palmer is being distracted by women....well bad choices in women. then he won't fill his potential. I guess only he knows how far he wants to go and he may still earn enough from football to be ok afterwards. Whats he on?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Disagree Palmer had a presence about him got stuck in.
Gave the midfield some extra bite whilst defending a lead.

A gust of wind would blow Dhanda over.
