Have you saved any money as a result of lockdown ? 18:18 - Mar 5 with 536 viewsKeithHaynes

I reckon with flights back to the UK and visiting family I’m a few grand up.
Doesn’t compensate though.

Yep.
Saved on holidays, taking grandkids away, clothes, meals out and the odd pub session.

Plus Gym savings .

On other hand,it has been mercilessly grim

Be interesting to hear from those who haven’t, for whatever reason.

I've been putting a few quid here and there in to my savings account that I would have frittered away otherwise.

It's being spent on a holiday ASAP.

My daughter being self employed has lost thousands and we've helped out naturally.
Son and wife are with Unilever and done well out of it all.
Saved a fortune in commuting and meetings abroad (expenses)

No Sunday beers, no restaurants and missed out on at least 3 holidays abroad.

Yes a few quid saved, but I wish I'd been able to spend it on the above.

Ive spent far too much time on here though but it's not easy being a truth seeker and having a legion of avid followers just waiting for my drivel of the day.

We're about 150-200 quid a month better off. It's been going in the savings. A NICE holiday will happen, probably next year.

Keith, is Burgos worth a visit? Always fancied Cadiz too, I like somewhere with castles and cathedrals, that's why I liked Rhodes, even decked out in tourists shops the old city is stunning.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Sadly you have developed a legend in your own mind syndrome, that is what having lots of time on your hands can do to you.

Loads.

Saved enough to buy a new car, mostly pay it off and am currently in the process of getting my house rewired, which I've had to put off for ages due to lack of cash.

I'm lucky though. On a good income and my job gets more secure the worse the general economic outlook.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Been mixing and matching working from home and going in to work, do saved a few quid a month on fuel, however that’s been off set by having to fork out for new brakes on account of lack of use. Also saved on a not going on a big holiday. Utility bills gone up though and wife is spending on line, so while we’re ahead it’s not by as much as I’d have thought.
