Im not sure Id watch if he was selected frankly as Whittaker would be seriously insulted by that selection.
It is entirely possible we could fall away when luck deserts ,as it will and Steve will cop it-at least from me he will.
We will never have a better chance to go back up than this season and we look like we could screw it up . That will be totally down to Steve and is selection,tactics,man management and recruitment. Why bring in players and not select them. |  |

I have a feeling Routs is being prepped to take on Ayew's role if he has to self isolate after the internationals. Completely different style but will have freedom to roam.

Guv. I like the cut of you jib but you hope he does.
He will stay true to his stubborn streak and no doubt continue to pick an out of form Lowe and start Routledge instead.A 36 yr old midfield/winger/utility player who is seeing his career out,rather than a lad who will be busting a gut to get his career going. He will also select our appalling goalkeeper who is and has costed us goals and no doubt involve Hourihane - a lovely chap no doubt but one rather lacking in sweat .
I hope Im wrong but I see us losing this possibly a la Huddersfield who were given no chance against us at the first game.

I would drop Hourihane. Grimes Fulton and Smith in the middle. If Bennett is 100% fit then include him, probably for Naughton.
Also I think Wayne is still a great option late on. One thing you know when the ball goes to him it sticks. He gives others time to reset and get forward rather than being on the back foot when the ball keeps coming back as it is at present. | | | |

Would prefer Routledge not to come on at all but I see what he can do a regards ball retention.

It says a lot about Lowe's current form that I genuinely would, I think, prefer to start a 36 year old Wayne Routledge over him. At least Routledge has decent ball control, a facet of Lowe's game which seems to have completely deserted him in the past month.
