First team defender in the Championship, 4 goals, Welsh international and only turned 21 a few days ago. Bags of potential to further develop either playing in the Championship or being brought in to a first team squad in the Premier League. Could be the next one out of the door.

I’d look for at least £10m with sell ons.

Rodon was heavily underpriced, though selling him did allow us to bring a few first team players in. Cabango isn’t close to him ability wise and I think he’d be exploited in the PL. Fee wise though, yeah we had £11m for Joe. I’d like to think we could hold out for that kind of fee if West Ham came in for Ben.

A stand out performance in the Euros and Ben's value could go up significantly.

You could say the same applies for literally every single player at the tournament.

Yes you could, but this is a Swansea city forum hence why we are discussing its impact on CR and BC. Go troll someone else. [Post edited 2 Jun 2021 14:54]

Rodon has all the qualities big clubs are looking for in their defenders but Cabango (while effective) is more limited. Be interesting to see where Cabango fits with Wales, Lockyer's more established but was only on the reserve list. Decent likelihood of an all-Swans academy backline be it a 4 or a 5.

| Disgruntled ex West Ham employee reveals Cabango as a target. on 15:24 - Jun 2 with 980 views | Badlands | After two full (ish) seasons at Championship level Ben is a year younger than Rodon, less rpone to injnury and a significantly more rounded CD. Rodon was a British Melchester Rovers type whereas Cabango is a Ashley WIlliams type but with added goals. £10 for Joe was a fair price but I’d expect a few £million more for Cabango. A decent Euros and the offers will be flooding in. | |

By Melchester Rovers, do you mean composed, positionally astute and capable of carrying the ball into midfield as well as throwing his body in the way of shots, battling centre forwards and making last ditch tackles? Ben is a very effective, traditional centre back, with the added bonus of being a set piece threat. He’s not nearly as rounded as Rodon. I think £11m was a stitch up for Joe. If Ben does go, whether we get more than that depends on who is interested and how badly we need to sell.

Ben makes nowhere near the amount of unforced errors that Jo makes every single game, worth a bit more - certainly not less.

Agree with that. Ben is a no nonsense defender but he's never going to be a cultured ball playing defender like Joe who's at a big six club. Ben might get a move to someone like Burnley where they don't look to play football in their own half.

If you want all the cash and straight away that’s the price we had to pay ( no pun ) Althiugh I’m pretty sure it’s more than 11. Either way it carried the club forwards for a season.
