Is he any good then not bothered that Bristol City released him Korey Smith was good till Cooper lost the plot and played Hourihane no matter what. Same with Kasey Parmer I thought he made a difference for us. Much better than Dhanda and had some strength on the ball. [Post edited 6 Jul 2021 18:00]

. Great stuff. The recent recruits and the two 'incoming' all have the manager's stamp apparently. Reckon Joel Piroe is someone the manager has been tracking for a while since he played for Netherlands against England I believe. An interesting discussion point and adds some fuel to the fire of all the rumours over the last couple of weeks ! .

The inclusion of Walsh hopefully doesn’t mean we are going to lose a body in midfield.

I honestly can't place him did he play against us last season. Watched both Bristol games, but I tend to focus on our own players and not so.much the opposition.

| Players incoming on 18:07 - Jul 6 with 2371 views | jasper_T | I don't understand what people saw in Palmer. He just wanted to run with the ball straight into people. Playground footballer, we got more out of Dhanda. Smith wasn't a disappointment because he managed to stay fit and did an unremarkable job as an experienced extra body, never good enough to be a regular starter. Some here thought he'd be pushing Grimes out of the team as a "proper defensive mid" lol. | | | |

Disagree sorry Jasper Dhanda is not good enough if he were to bulk up maybe but how long are we going to give him. Yes Smith was a workhorse not as good as Grimes of course not that's why clubs are weighing up big offers. At least Palmer could hold onto the ball yes no world beater but better than Dhanda who was not a patch on Celina either. A gust of wind would blow him over. May do well in another side but has regularly failed to impress for us. [Post edited 6 Jul 2021 18:29]

I don’t know the stats but to the naked eye it felt Palmer did everything but retain the ball. Didn’t rate him at all personally but I’m losing patience in Dhanda aswell to be honest.

It’s because of ‘the’ goal and ‘the’ tackle. Once a player does something like that, they are heroes for ever more.

Not at all, both Phil and I are aware of the details. I’m sure there are others out there in twitter land and elsewhere who know loads more. I haven’t a clue who the two are, just as I said at the OP there are two. Anything else is pure speculation. I will add it would be foolish of me not to mention it on a swansea City website tho. I’ll leave the conjecture to others.

You are a good poster Lisa but not even you can mind read unfortunately. I liked him because when he played especially off the bench I felt he stopped us from getting bullied in midfield. Ask yourself this if Palmer was our player and Dhanda was at Bristol would them rose tinted specs still work. Maybe you don't wear them but again I wouldn't know because i am not a mind reader. Football is about opinions just because you think 1 player is better than another don't mean its right.

News to me that . I read what Lisa writes and learn from her boundless experience and knowledge of ,well, absolutely everything. From quantum physics to Yan Dhanda ,she s the girl. What happened was Palmer Smith mediocre,as was Fulton making Grimes look like Pirlo. I’m hoping we can have more balance in the team ,like not having 5 players totally one footed .

. Pretty special moments to be fair. For me 'All fur coat and no knickers' is a bit harsh, but another who flattered to deceive. Definitely some substance underneath but seemed content and not as striving/driven as others. I reckon Lati may unfortunately be in the same category (after his bad injury - beforehand he seemed a proper warrior and leader). .

All depends what you look for in a player. Dhanda's ok on the ball going forward but performs like a wet lettuce when needed to close down and win the ball and out of the game. Palmer is more physical, doesn't possess the ability to play between the lines but in all honesty neither player is capable of lifting our percentages in midfield

Totally agree Palmer was garbage,,cheated a lot never tracked his man was clever drifting away from his man so it didn't look like his..dhanda was twice the player

I was just making a general point, that’s all. I just said that when a player does what he did they tend to become favourites and get forgiven all sorts. Same with marvellous Marvin after ‘that’ goal. I quite liked Palmer as it happens. Our lack of creativity in midfield towards the end of the season cried out foe someone who could at least offer a glimmer of hope they’d do something. Dhanda is fine when the team is on the front foot. Not so much otherwise. And we were rarely on the front foot in the last couple of months. Midfield is going to look a bit different this year I suspect.
| Players incoming on 19:11 - Jul 6 with 2120 views | Catullus | I didnt hink much of Palmer but though Dhanda was more skilfull and at least looked for the killer passes forward, not good enough either because he just couldn't compete physically. Smith is no genius but he worked hard, he tackled, he did something which is better than some others! These new players, whoever it is I just hope they have been thought about and are part of a grand plan to build a balanced side with a lot more attacking capability. | |

He changed the game when he came on against us though in fairness, he was clearly trying to prove a point though you could see that, but the question he needs to ask himself is if he could be that influential in that game why doesn't he impose himself in every game.
